The environment and service were perfectly fine. The only issue was that you’re paying $20 for very average food (the normal tempura was good tho). The spicy chicken tempura was not exactly edible. Seemed like it was rolled in a spice mix about 10 times. You can definitely find somewhere more worth the price I think.

Came here for lunch on a holiday, and the place was buzzing, constant queue at the door, but it moved pretty fast. I had the tan tan udon, which was simple, with noodles that had a nice bite to them. The fried zucchini was surprisingly good, crisp and not too oily. My family went for the curry udon and seemed pretty happy with their picks. Service was quick, though a bit on the sloppy side. Still, for the price, it’s hard to complain too much.
This is our fourth visit and service and food continue to be within expectations. Food was tasty and kids enjoyed their meal. Whenever we’re missing having udon in Japan, Marugame is our place to go.

The food was honestly not that good, udon was kind of soggy and not really chewy, and broth tasted alright. However, the worker almost rolled their eyes at us when we ordered Katsu Udon and even gave us the wrong order…

We were so excited when this place opened in Vancouver! We've been to the Honolulu and Tokyo locations. Some of the tempura was a bit cold here but the noodles were firm and bouncy. Tried the tomatama this time and it was quite good. Great for a late night snack, after a musical or game.

Had regular size beef udon and it's delicious! It taste like sukiyaki. I also had side dish: prawn and squid tempura w and soda. I had a nice meal overall for only $21.50 CAD. I highly recommend this place.

THANK YOU SO MUCH JHO! I must have dropped my wallet exiting the skytrain, and I accepted that I had lost it somewhere. Two days later jho messages me on Facebook saying she found out. What an honest and good person. Whoever the owner is should give her a raise!
