Discovered this spot on last visit to Vancouver. No frills, straight up udon place that delivers pretty decent value. You order at the counter, canteen-style, it's quick and satisfying. My curry udon was good, noodles had good chew and the broth was decent.
An extension to the originally named “Marukame” in Hawaii (Waikiki), this establishment sets to re-create a similar success to udon lovers here in Vancouver. Their menu offers much selection with the various types of noodles, specialty broths as well as their signature tempuras. Stopped by Marugame Udon for a quick meal and it was honestly really good. The udon noodles tasted fresh and had that nice chewy texture. I got the beef udon and the broth was simple but really comforting. I also picked up a shrimp tempura on the side which was crispy and light
