First time having Mary Brown's... ordered the 9pc Feast (half and half) with taters, gravy, and coleslaw. Then added 6pc wings soy garlic and a small mac and cheese.
The chicken is not as crispy as Church's. The coating is flatter and closer to shake and bake coating (but in a good way). The chicken is handcut, whole chicken pieces so you get breast, thigh, wing, and drumstick. The spicy version is aggressively seasoned and the heat builds as you eat more (I probably prefer the original version more). The breast piece isn't as juicy but the thigh is juicy.
They don't need such a large box of tater wedges. They are a bit dry and hardish in texture. The coleslaw is pretty good and the mac and cheese is ok but on the saucy side.
Good soy garlic wings but it was drenched in sauce similar to Korean style chicken. Thick gravy.
Not bad and much better than Popeyes but I would say there are better chicken places in town.
