Maxim's Bakery Victoria Drive

I remember when there was a time that maxims was at the top of their game.
After getting a couple of their bbq pork buns to share, I noticed the stuffing has gotten considerably less and less over time, and also the inconsistencies of the outer layer of the honey bun being golden brown to pale looking...even the bbq pork stuffing had lost some wow factor.

Yes it's affordable, not knocking it. Alot of people on budget come here. However, there's so much competition now with the same prices with higher quality. Nonetheless they do have many other items that satisfy your needs.

Tart was not tarting, made me feel like a gweilo - Trinity and Cynthia

Tried the roll cake and it was delicious. Not too sweet with light and spongy texture and buttery whip as well. The one we got had multiple cake flavours inside which made it look prettier while letting you enjoy multiple different cake flavours in 1. Tasted fresh too. No complaints.

Ordered a black forest cake, but was not given one. It was a regular chocolate cake. (Overly dry). Family member called the bakery to ask the following day - and staff member there instead of owning up to the error, they proclaimed that there were two types of black forest cake that supposedly the customer was supposed to state, otherwise its just plain chocolate. Very disappointing. Issue with the staff member who took the order to put in the order item; or that did not indicate to the customer to clarify the type (if you truly have two types, but that would be erroneous as black forest has cherry in it). Second issue (not sure if same) on the staff with poor customer service who took the follow up call. So shocked, to go all the way to chaotic mall, in the chaotic street hoping for the same past experience but shocked on this experience.

I love to load up on snacks here, the coconut red bean mochi is my favorite

Always have enjoyed there cakes. Order ahead of time they have it nicely boxed up for you. They have other treats as well you can buy.
