Came here on a Saturday morning since they only do reservations until 9:45am. I noticed around 10am they started filling up and people were lining up outside the restaurant. They have an inside, an enclosed heated patio and then the front patio which is not enclosed. The food was quite good. I found the salmon eggs Benny a bit on the saltier side but it might have just been the hash browns. The salmon rosti had nice flavours and textures but I wish they offered some salad to accompany the dish.

Been here several times in the past 2 years for work social happy hours & a team brunch. When I went for brunch, I had the smoked salmon Benny which was a bit salty for my taste but the latte w/ oat milk was delicious. Have tried several cocktails from their HH menus but my favorite was the blackberry Margarita which is no longer on their HH menu. Just went again yesterday and had the pineapple spicy Margarita which was a bit watered down pineapple juice but better than one of the margaritas they had on their HH menu last year but cannot remember the name. Beware the goblet it is served in is massive and requires both of my hands to hold as it's heavy! Don't say I didn't warn you. I've also tried several of their HH food and the fried chicken is usually a team/table favorite, the maple syrup soaks up the goodness with every bite. We've had the oysters, fries, falafel (not on current menu), seared tuna appy, salads, and yesterday we tried their eggplant parm which was ok, lacking in the taste that I am familiar with. It's convenient to work so imagine we'll continue to go back.

Excellent experience. I came here on a solo birthday trip to Vancouver and this was highly recommended by a friend. I checked out their website before going and knew I was going to order the smoked salmon rosti. It didn't disappoint! The fresh citrusy notes of the dill meshed perfectly with a rich gooey poached egg and the hollandaise sauce wasn't overpoweringly rich. The rosti it was all served on was crisp even to the last bite. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming; they were going for a European corner bistro vibe and it shows. The staff is EXCELLENT. They knew it was my birthday and multiple members of the wait staff wished me a happy birthday. I didn't feel like the rosti was going to be enough so they made a recommendation for some farm sausage that was a perfect pairing. To finish, they surprised me with a complimentary eclair that I was a little hesitant to eat for a brunch/breakfast closer. It was great. Not too sweet, just chocolately enough, and didn't make me feel like I was bursting at the seems when I walked out. My whole family is planning a trip to Vancouver in May, and I am definitely planning on bringing them!

This place was wonderful! We made a reservation for my birthday and we were super late. We called them to let them know and they said they'd do what they could. When we arrived Maria the manager had held a table for us even thought we were about 30 min late. I'm sure this isn't the norm but really was a nice touch to start my birthday right. We started off with a Bloody Caesar, a mocha, and a mixed drink. We got the bacon Benedict (with real bacon instead of back bacon) and the falafel bowl. Both were phenomenal and the hollandaise was perfection. Our server Anton was wonderful and gave excellent suggestions on drinks and food. We'll have to try the pastries next time - they looked bomb. When we finished our meal Maria came over with this cute little Bday shot! How thoughtful The vibe was high end cafe with their cute bar in the center with plants hanging. This is an excellent brunch option and good vibes! 1/10 would come back.

Always a great time here. I bring my colleagues for HH every now and then.They are always accommodating for my baby and the stroller which I appreciate is not always easy. Really nice staff, always friendly.Great selection of items on their menu both food and for drinks. Will always keep coming back.
I recently dined at Maxine’s cafe and bar and unfortunately had an extremely disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that the customer service was subpar and the management, particularly a person named Allen, was severely lacking in professionalism.Firstly, upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with indifference by the staff. It seemed like they were more focused on their personal conversations than attending to customers. When I finally managed to get their attention, the service was slow and inattentive throughout the entire meal.As for the management, Allen's behavior was unacceptable. Not only did he ignore customer complaints, but he also displayed a dismissive attitude when approached with concerns about the service. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for him.

LOVE this place. Great food. Great Ambiance. Always come here for special occasions. This time, my husbands birthday. Fantastic meals for all of us. Alas, I must admit I was thoroughly disappointed with absolutely no recognition of his birthday. Not a free mimosa, not a free cookie with coffee or a dessert. Not a mention. I felt sad about that - are restaurants all too busy with life to make someone's birthday great??? Sad Truly sad. And yes, they knew it was his birthday. Disappointed.

The vibes at Maxine's are immaculate! We love the cozy and vibrant decor (their decor during the holidays is even more beautiful). We ordered the full Harwood for 2 people, an affogato and a mocha; everything was so delicious! If you are a fan of bone marrow, this is the place to come for brunch; it's my boyfriend's absolute favourite. Our server, Antony (Anton) was so incredibly friendly and professional; he made our experience so, so nice. Our only complaint is that it's very, very difficult to find parking in the area that's non-permit; we circled around for about 30-minutes looking for parking and even then, we only got lucky when a spot opened up. We appreciate the hostess for giving us a longer grace period as the restaurant is well aware of how difficult the parking situation is in the area; that was a huge relief knowing that they allowed me to sit down first while my boyfriend continued to search for parking. We are very thankful for their kindness and friendly service!

If you value your dignity and expect to be treated with respect, I cannot recommend dining at Maxine's. Despite the decent food, my recent experience was soured by the manager's unprofessional behavior. Despite our timely arrival without a reservation, we were informed that the restaurant was fully booked, yet we noticed empty tables throughout our visit. The manager's attitude was dismissive and rude, and they even made fun of us and threatened to ban us from the restaurant without any valid reason. As someone who respects the dining experience and values professionalism, I find this behavior unacceptable. I intend to address this matter further to ensure that such treatment is not repeated.
