This coffee and sandwich shop keeps things very simple. The menu is minimal, with only a handful of food options available, clearly focusing on doing a few items well rather than offering a long list of choices.

We ordered the Porchetta sandwich, which honestly looked a bit like Cantonese roast pork tucked into a sandwich. The highlight was definitely the pork — the skin was perfectly crispy, while the meat inside was tender and juicy. The sandwich bread was soft, warm, and slightly chewy, creating a really nice contrast in textures. Watching the staff slice the pork fresh in front of you added to the experience — it felt authentic and impressive.

The shop itself is small, with just two tables and a few seats, clearly designed more as a take-away spot rather than a dine-in café. The interior is modern, cozy, and minimalist, giving it a clean and stylish vibe.

Overall, it was a good experience, and the sandwich quality was undeniable. However, considering the price and the relatively small portion size, it may not be somewhere we visit frequently. Still, it’s a solid choice if you’re craving a well-made porchetta sandwich and appreciate freshly prepared ingredients.

I love the kale salad (with chicken for protein) I keep coming back for it every time.
I recently tried the buffalo chicken sandwich. I liked it, but honestly couldn’t taste any blue cheese. My friend had the cheese sandwich and said it was really yummy.
The service, unfortunately, was very meh. The waiter was making so much noise and it kind of felt like they were rushing us to leave. It came across as weird and a bit rude, and honestly ruined my mood.
I do really like the design of the place though, it feels simple, raw, and intentional.

Tried this place for lunch the other day. The porchetta sandwich was quite rich but delicious.

This used to be a lunch worth finding downtown parking for, with the porchetta being local legend. But now it's 30% smaller, barely a snack, even the Hardbite chips are micro-sized. Place was empty at noon on a thursday and, while the sandwich is still delicious, it's far from the icon the chain was built on. Disappointing. Dont think I'll be back..

Been a long time customer here and I always order takeout, pre-order; however, only 50% of the time I didnt wait. Service is extremely slow. Sometimes there are 5 people working and I still have to wait, despite ordering online 20 mins before. Today I came and pick up my order and 2 people stuck at the cashier, for some reason, another one is preparing the bread. It could only be one second for her to get me the bag but she has to SLOWLY prepare the sub and wrap it altogether and then get my bag and read the label for 30 sec. The best part is my soup lid wasn’t closed properly and it spilled everywhere. What’s the point of being slow? They also never answer the phone. Truly an ADHD nightmare

My wife & I dropped in a few times for breakfast sandwiches & for late lunch while vacationing in Vancouver (we stayed at one of the nearby hotels in Coal Harbour). Consistently great food & prompt service.
Their porchetta is a must (moist tasty pork + excellent crackling). We won't hesitate to return the next time we're in Vancouver!

One thing you can count on at all the Meat & Bread locations is a quality sandwich. The standard menu has great choices and their rotating specials are always fun and tasty.

This location in particular boasts a beautiful park next door to eat your food at; a great option especially on a nice day. They also have a number of tables inside and directly outside.

While they are slightly on the more expensive side, you are paying for a higher quality sandwich than you'd get at most other sandwich shops, which makes it well worth it. It's always a winner for out-of-town guests.

Meat & Bread will continue to be one of my go-to lunch suggestions whenever I am in town.

Excellent Ruben sandwich, which is a time limited feature they said, but at $18 after tax is a little pricey.
