Wow. Porchetta sandwich lived up to the hype! Every bite was perfectly portioned with meat, sauce, and the “crackling” skin. Absolutely delicious.

Absolutely Disgusting and Unsafe Food Handling
I ordered a sandwich at the Meat & Bread location on Robson on January 28th at around 7:30 PM, and what I witnessed was honestly shocking.
While my order was being prepared, the staff member was cleaning the walls and kitchen surfaces using a bucket of dirty cleaning water and a sponge. That same sponge and bucket were sitting on the prep table right next to the bread, meat, and condiments. No separation. No hygiene. No concern.
After cleaning, the staff member did not wash his hands and immediately proceeded to make my sandwich with those same hands. When I asked why he didn’t wash his hands, his response was unbelievable: he said they use the same cleaning water and sponge to clean their hands as well, so he thought it was fine.
That is beyond unacceptable and deeply concerning from a food safety standpoint.
I had to insist that he put on gloves and remake the sandwich from scratch, which he did reluctantly. This entire situation clearly shows a complete lack of basic food hygiene training.
To make matters worse, when I finally opened the sandwich, there was a large piece of bone inside (see attached photo). Whether this was accidental or sheer carelessness, it could have seriously injured someone.
Between the unsafe food handling, the shocking explanation about “cleaning” hands, and foreign objects in the food, I would absolutely not recommend anyone eat here.
Management should urgently review the security camera footage from that evening to see how food was being prepared. This is not just poor service — it’s a serious public health concern.
Extremely disappointing and honestly disturbing experience.

We tried 3 of their sandwiches and they were all fantastic! Limited seating at this location (only bar stools). The meatball sandwich was my favorite of the 3 we had. We didn't get soup but the grilled cheese would have been amazing dipped in soup.
Done absolutely right. Found my favourite spot for tomato soup and grilled cheese 🎉

They support agenda 2030 with no cash payments. I like my privacy and my cash. Also, How is my parents supposed to eat here when they don’t even know how to use a bank card never mind a phone. It’s discrimination against the elderly who are forced into using technology.

Second time here! I had the porchetta — the meat was so tender and juicy, it was really good :) Last time I tried the bacon slab, and it was amazing too! I just wish they served all-day breakfast 🥹 Also, the staff are super nice!!

I love shops where the name is what they have. I had Mac n cheese pulled pork sandwich and it was the best. Friendly, helpful service and cool little seating area. Also cool that they have everything out in the open so you see your food being made. Highly recommend 👌

I was so excited to try my first M&B sandwich! Despite my clinic being within walking distance of the shop, I've always missed the opening hours due to work. Fortunately, I had an opening and was able to try the famous porchetta sandwich and it did not disappoint - save for the juicy bits that fell on the floor that I wished I could have saved! Looking forward to trying other flavours :)

The guy didn't wash his hands with soup and just handled the bread and marinated the chicken with his bare hands. DISGUSTING. I ended up throwing the food away.

After going to the clinic for examination, come and have breakfast. I bought it after noon several times before. I wanted to continue ordering the famous Rice-meat dumplings sandwiches, but I found that we arrived too early and had to choose one of the breakfast varieties. The sandwich I finally bought with bacon and caramel onions was really delicious, and the thick cut bacon meat was so fragrant! The staff who was in charge of production also has a good attitude and is very handsome. I love all the food in their house so much
