The 20 - 30 yr old female server rushed us to order as soon as we sat down and it wasn't busy with only 1 other customer there at 5 pm Thursday March 28, 2024. Curry Beef is not pink or red, but if properly cooked, is first seered to keep the juices in and browned. The 30 - 40 yr old male server told me " I don't know what to say but it is cooked slowly for 4 hours " However he is not the cook and this reddish pink beef always had too much fat until i asked a friendlier Japanese female server last month to ask the cook to remove the fat. The Curry Beef with noodle might have been left covered in a warm pot for 4 hours, not cooked properly. He most likely doesn't know how to boil water, so maybe he should work in a gym as he's too old to be a go go dancer in a club.

I've been a regular customer since the restaurant opened. This restaurant is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. The beef stew and spring rolls are amazing. Also I appreciate that they are a family owned business!

Over 40 dollars for 2 rare beef soups and tbh it was horrible. Rotten sprouts, rare beef blood, noodles, and “fresh” garnish all left to absorb one another. My lime wedge was completely dry and looked used. Broth has little flavour and the portion was very small for a large soup. May I add there was no basil, hoisin sauce, nor any condiments. Will not be returning and don’t recommend for take out at this lazy place.

I went here because of their original restaurant on main- au petit cafe. So nice to see the legacy passed down.

I usually don’t complain about the size or portions of food but $17 for a very small bowl of pho… oh boy I was surprised when it was brought to the table… food was ok but maybe don’t come on a day when you are super hungry ?

This is my favorite place for banh mi, Vietnamese sandwiches. Try out the shredded chicken sandwich, highly recommended; crusty bun, flavorful sauce, and juicy chicken meat, which tastes perfect. Their salad rolls and vermicelli bowl noodles are good too; the vegetables and herb used are so fresh. Friendly staff and I really enjoyed the good services.

Been coming here for a few years and i still stand by this statement: best banh mi ive ever had + the best Vietnamese restaurant to date.Im usually not a bread person but the way they toast their bread + the ratio of bread:filling+ the filling itself= 10/10.Other dishes i really like:- their beef stew. Beef is SO TENDER- lemon chicken rice. Chicken us SO JUICY- crispy spring roll- iced vietnamese coffeeThey often are very busy + small space so just keep that in mind. But good business is reflective of their food quality

House special banh mi was delicious! It had Vietnamese ham, bacon, and meatball in crusty bun. It was very tasty yet light and easy to eat. Their pho was decent, too.Their drinks could be a bit better tho. We had smoothie and egg coffee.

Delicious banhmi bread and fillings. Tasty pho that’s not too salty and has fresh beef slices. I would come back to try more stuff!

The beef stew is to die for. I don’t typically come to commercial area but I would come just to eat their beef stew. The soup is thick, and hearty. The beef and carrot are cooked for many hours so they are extremely tender. Love love love!

Outstanding place!I was visiting Vancouver for a few weeks and ate there multiple times. Super cozy atmosphere and great food. The Curry and Beef Noodle Stew are delicious and left me full but still craving for more.Had the Bun Cha Ca for a lighter lunch and was impressed by the combination of flavours. Even the Chicken Wings are juicy and packed with flavour. The meat in the House Special Banh Mi is quite fatty so if you don't like that then go for the chicken. The Coffee is great too!
