Moltaqa blew me away. Every dish was packed with flavour, rich, vibrant, and honestly the best Moroccan food I’ve had in Vancouver. The drinks were just as impressive : balanced, refreshing, and clearly crafted with attention and desert rose martini was my favorite.
The highlight of the night, though, was the belly dancer. She brought so much energy, talent, and warmth to the room that it completely elevated the entire atmosphere. It wasn’t just entertainment ; it genuinely tied the whole experience together.
If you want incredible food, amazing drinks, and a memorable night out, Moltaqa delivers on every front. I left already planning my next visit !! : ))))

we had a reservation at 8:30, got seated at 8:50. the service was so bad, table was propped up by a napkin. cocktails were so expensive and underwhelming. the hummus tasted worse than store bought and the bread came out cold and hard. the food tasted mediocre however, the presentation for the flambe duck was unsafe. the fire went underneath the salad bowl and on the table, it burned my hand. and the entire was covered by the cognac (used for the fire) and got all over my bag and pants, and the server saw this and did nothing, even when we asked for an extra napkin. would not recommend, too expensive for what it has to offer.

We (2) had an incredible meal here during our first visit this weekend. Superb service and stunning atmosphere. Highly recommend the Trad Vegetarian Pastilla, Beet Orange Salad, and lamb Shamb with Apricot and side of couscous with Tangine. Definitely try their delicious amd creative cocktails, especially the Moroccam Bourbon Sour and Spiced Sangria. All great wonderful experience.

We stumbled upon Moltaqa while exploring Yaletown during a recent vacation. One glance through the door and the amazing smells that emerged told us that we needed to try it. First, we're average folks who like a good value but enjoy a nice splurge now and then. Moltaqa managed to tick both boxes for us. First, the food: it's wonderful. This is traditional Moroccan cuisine served in a traditional style; it's delicious but not intimidating, and is reasonably priced. We enjoyed the tagine dishes tremendously, one beef, one lamb. The seasoning was subtle and delightful. The couscous, seemingly a simple thing to make, was the best we've ever had, creamy and delicious. Their flatbreads were addictive, the hummus smooth, creamy and perfect. They have a full bar and good selection of wines with knowledgeable staff who made excellent recommendations for us. OK, traditional, delicious, non-pretentious food and drink. What put it over the top for us was the atmosphere and the wonderful staff. The decor is traditional and the vibe is wonderful. Every person we met was smiling, helpful, seemingly delighted to make sure that our visit was memorable. We had stumbled in on a busy Saturday night without a reservation and were immediately seated at the bar with smiling faces greeting us. After our meal we had a nice conversation with the owner, telling him how impressed we were with his staff. He proudly told us how long each of them has worked for him, such retention not only speaking volumes about the management but also allowing his team to work so well together, providing us with outstanding service and making us feel special. The belly dancer was a surprise bonus! The superlative customer service, the wonderful atmosphere and the delicious, traditional food will have us returning to Moltaqa on our next visit. Highly recommended!

Food was so bland! the houmous had zero flavor, the rice was bland, the duck was cold and tiny, not worth the price for the food. saw 30 seconds of belly dancing which was underwhelming.
expensive drinks, expensive food, non attentive waiters. Just not a great experience unfortunately. Will not be back.
