Nice bar, very open space, we went for Wednesday trivia night and the atmosphere was fun. We had a few issues with orders and mistakes by the waiters. The beers were okay, out of 5 beers only 1 was good.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Glasses with lipstick marks still on it, were the first signs that we should have left. The food is well below par and the pumpkin soups had to be sent back because it was so bad. My daughter ordered a chicken burger with avocado salsa, not surprised, there was no salsa. Eventually brown avocado with some of the skin still on it was delivered instead. My friend having returned the pumpkin soup ordered the baja quinoa salad, again inedible. Our waitress was rude and easily offended. The chips were overcooked and dry. How can one place get so much wrong. Where is Gordon Ramsay when you need him.

Don’t be fooled by the fake reviews. Our experience started with dirty lipstick on my glass of water and I should’ve left at that point. My parmigiana was pretty ordinary, although edible. My request for NO salad but extra chips was met with half a plate of salad stacked high, and just a handful of chips hidden under the chicken. When I complained, the unhappy waitress arranged for the removal of the salad and put the chicken in its place, no extra chips. My daughter’s burger was pretty poor and the avocado salsa consisted of a couple of small slices of browned avocado with bits of skin intact. Maybe the browning was considered to be some kind of salsa 🤮🤮. Look past the “local guide” reviews and see what actual patrons have written including about the poor attitudes. All up, a pretty crappy experience. When we spoke to the staff at our hotel about it, they said it was a “dive bar”. 😩

Moose's down under deserves 0 stars, our first of many problems was lipstick marks on cups. Our second was rude and obviously annoyed staff when you ask them for something that you ordered ages ago. I ordered a burger wich was meant to have avocado salsa on it, it ended up being served with 3 tiny chunks of rotten avocado, when I said this is not avocado salsa can I get more avocado the waitress stormed off and came back with a plate of even more rotten avocado Wich still had a bit of skin on it. The chicken in the wrap tasted weird and was inedible. From the reviews online this place looks good however when you look closely all of the good reviews seem to be AI generated or paid for. Awful 0/10

I would not recommend Moose’s Down Under. There was nothing remotely Australian about the place, and the food was awfully overpriced for the quality. A vegetarian table was inexplicably served a meat pie, and the vegan pies were bland, undercooked, and later made us feel unwell. The lamingtons were missing jam entirely, and the cake itself tasted old and crumbly. Service was unimpressive, with no attempt at compensation or meaningful apology after serving meat to a vegetarian table. The venue also felt empty and lifeless. Overall, it felt less like Down Under and more like the place itself is going down under.

This pub is like stepping into a time warp but in a good way. You can tell from the walls this place has seen some stuff and it doesn't try to hide it. The place has character and you don't feel like just another number. The old school beer cooler, the bathroom that works, or the booths that have not changed. I absolutely love it. Vancouver should be so lucky to have a place with such character and not just another generic bar. Protect this place at all costs.

I ordered the poutine and paid $5 extra for the kangaroo meat topping / add-on as suggested on the menu. There is about a spoonful of meat (see photo). I will leave it at that..

Nice cozy place to chill right in downtown, ambiance is good and price won't break the bank. Had a great time there.

My experience at Moose Down Under was a surreal descent into madness, characterized by hostile staff, unprofessional management, and undrinkable drinks. It has taken me days to process the insanity of what transpired, which culminated in the police being called—on us. The nightmare started when a server, dressed inappropriately (a shiny club-style top that contrasted with all other staff's head-to-toe black uniforms), forced me to sit down despite my telling the manager I was waiting for my date. She then hounded our table, demanding an order four times in quick succession, even after my date sat down for only 30 seconds. Our basic drinks (Rum & Coke, Ginger Ale) were undrinkable—mere soda water and syrup. Only server Bella (the sole professional) provided any relief by taking over. The worst came when the aggressive waitress stormed our table after I complained about her rushing and inappropriate attire. When I tried to calmly explain, she became volatile, screaming "YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO ME!" and escalating the argument. She ignored me (the woman she was arguing with) and tried to manipulate my male date. I repeatedly told her to "GO AWAY", but she continued SCREAMING, talking trash, and trying to fight me. The entire bar chanted "FIGHT!" The most appalling part? The OWNERS and MANAGERS stood right there, watching and LETTING IT HAPPEN. Staff only intervened when I stood up. After all this, they brought us the terrible food and then CALLED THE POLICE ON US, claiming they were worried we wouldn't pay—despite their waitress being the sole aggressor! The manager, who saw the entire screaming match, feigned ignorance. The police were left to deliver our bill with only a measly 25% discount. This is a place where staff will verbally abuse you, physically threaten you, and then call the police on you for having an opinion. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Ordered the Steak Bites and they smelled and tasted rotten.
The server said it may have been the oil.. but they certainly weren’t edible.

We went to mammia mia night, it was supposed to be dinner and a show for $120, it wasn’t quite what we expected. Very disorganized, some people had food tickets, others weren’t given any. We were asked to order online beforehand but then when we arrived it was different menu and we had to order again, yelling at our server over the performance. We were given a “welcome drink” but the gin and tonics were literally just water, not even tonic water, just flat water, no lime wedge or nothing. Every order was taken twice. They were out of all but 1 wine. Some people didn’t get food until after 9pm (7:30 show), some got up and left. The show itself was… ok, some of the performers were good singers, others not so much, costumes were very half-hazard with some outfits not being able to button up due to sizing. They just ran around the restaurant singing various abba songs. Maybe 8 songs total? The food was a very large portion and was decent. And the atmosphere was still fun as most people there were making the most of it and singing and dancing along. Overall was just way too overpriced for what we got.
