This was our go to place for fast, cheap, delicious Vietnamese food before they changed owners and renovated. I knew the prices were going to go up after a renovation, but the prices are ridiculous now. The moment we saw the menu we wanted to get up and leave, but I decided to give them a chance. The ambiance was nice. The chairs were comfy. The service was good and attentive. Now the food.. Spring rolls $15. We used to absolutely love the spring rolls at the old MNG. $4.50 for 2 and we're double the size. These still tasted good and had a decent size prawn inside. MNG special rice $25. Not bad. Although I can't justify paying that much. I would say the flavour was good and the meat was tender. Average Vietnamese BBQ rice, but almost double the price. Bun bo hue $24. The biggest disappointment of the evening. Soup was bland and lacked any flavour it has a little spice but that's it. The noodles were so soggy and soft. We normally get salted lime juice when we go out, but couldn't justify paying $9.50 for it. We love our flavourful, reasonably priced Vietnamese food, and this wasn't it. Couldn't ask me to come back and pay $20+ for a bowl of pho.

I used to love this place but last time I came it didn't hit as much as before renovations; they added Singapore dishes on here: we tried Singapore crab and thought it was okay

My experience at Mui Ngo Gai was EXCEPTIONAL. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere. The food here is simply divine, with a perfect fusion of Vietnamese and Singaporean flavors that left my taste buds dancing with joy. It's evident that they use only the freshest ingredients, some even imported from their original countries, which adds an authentic touch to every dish (the best quality of mango imported from a specific region in Vietnam which is famous for their mangoes and its name I can’t recall haha). The staff were incredibly polite and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was top-notch. I also had the pleasure of meeting Vy, the owner a genuinely sweet and kind person.Whether you're a food enthusiast or just looking for a memorable dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. I’m so glad I discovered it and I can't wait to return for another culinary adventure!

First thing that kind of ran through my head is - I hope they're not another one of those 2-in-1 restaurants that do neither well. Suffice to say if you're looking for Vietnamese food you can probably get better value from a hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurants peppered throughout the lower mainland. What you're really paying for here is service and atmosphere.Server was a very knowledgeable and friendly lady but there isn't much of a weekday lunch crowd so there isn't much of an atmosphere. You really feel the AC due to the absence of body heat.We stuck to the Vietnamese menu because that's what they seemed to speak. I think if you were to get takeout it might be a little on the pricey side.High chairs are available if you have toddlers and washrooms are clean.

Unique decor but the food was average and did not match the price. Additionally, it was a bit odd that the servers didn't bring any serving utensils for dishes that were obviously meant to be shared.

This used to be our go-to Vietnamese place. After they went from family style to gourmet style, the food taste was not as good as before. Pho was served in a ramen bowl, which felt out of place. Tea is not served anymore. Water was served in a plastic cup which doesn’t go well with their new upscale vibe.Service was slow. The new renovations look good, but it takes away from the homely feel of the restaurant.

This used to be my favorite place for Banh xeo but the flavor is no longer the same after reopening. The food is alright, but the prices are too high to eat here regularly. The decor is lovely though.

This restaurant had a recent change of ownership and the newly renovated interior is femininely gorgeous and the bold flavourful foods offered here are amazing!Because the menu of this duo-cuisine (Vietnamese and Singaporean) restaurant is extensive, we opted to focus on the Vietnamese side of things first,- Tamarind fish (Cá Chiên Sốt me)- Pork & Prawn Crêpe (Bánh Xèo)- Shrimp Spring Rolls (Chả Giò Tôm)- Special Beef Noodle Soup with Rib (Pho Dec Biet)- Braised Fish (Cá Kho)- Vietnamese Sour Soup with Shrimp (Canh Chua Tôm)- Morning Glory with Crispy Garlic (Rau Muống Xào Tỏi)- Avocado Smoothie (Sinh Tố Bơ)Honestly, every dish is a hit and every plate/serving is presented beautifully. We typically cannot resist enjoying Vietnamese foods because of the strong flavours and freshness of ingredients, and this beautiful had given us exactly that — with abundant authentic in traditional flavours.Although all items are brilliant, our top recommend dishes for your consideration will have to be the crêpe, aka Bánh Xèo, and the special beef noodle soup, aka Phở, served on a beautifully custom-hand-painted claypot that is directly imported from Vietnam — amazing! For dessert, do not skip your chance to have the popular fresh avocados smoothie. Oh, and the avocado, as we were told, is imported from Việt Nam as well!If you have been looking for a beautiful, upscale, luxurious, and lush environment to have some elevated Southeast Asian foods — keep this place in mind for visiting next — really!… will for sure to come back very soon for the Singaporean flavours — so excited.IG: @kumofoodlist

Let me say the food here is average to above average. Unfortunately, these prices do not compete with surrounding Asian cuisine around the area. Priced much more than others and was not as good as the old pho places around the block. Was expecting more when they charge more than any other place around Kingsway/Victoria for a BBH. Also the decor/ambience does not fit well with the cuisine they offer. The dining ware is a little 'too much' considering we were there for lemongrass pork ans BBH.

New ownership. Definitely a big change from what it once was. Still good food but much different experience.Only downside is that it's pretty pricey now. If I were made of money I'd come more, but such is life..

Three months young, this restaurant will surely make a hit in the Vancouver food scene. We tried after seeing several IG posts and it did not disappoint. Never thought of the Singaporean and Vietnamese combo. We started off with the spring roll and fried wings and they were both amazing. Spring rolls had a shrimp in each and wings were well marinated. I tried it without the dipping sauce and it was delicious by itself. Singaporean Chili Crab was sooooo tasty. The sauce is incredible and a perfect dip with the complimentary bread. It was so good we had to order a second one. We ordered two kinds of fish - Ca Kho To and Pompano - and they were both a welcome among the young ones in our group. We finished off with Mee Goreng and who doesn't love this dish! We were served tea and it was a nice ending to a good meal. Ambiance is a bit "elegant-wannabe" with too much florals on walls and dining tables but that's not the focus here. Servers are very friendly and special mention to Rachel, the manager. She gave our party several complimentary dishes - appetizers, bread and tea to try. So glad we came and tried this new resto.
