Horrible Experience!

I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for Cantonese food for several years, but sadly, the quality has significantly declined. Over the past year, I’ve noticed the food has lost its flavor and authenticity.

This New Year, I brought my family here for dinner, and it was incredibly disappointing. The dishes were completely bland, lacking the signature “wok” flavor that makes Cantonese cuisine special. To make matters worse, one of the servers provided shockingly poor service, which made the experience even more unpleasant. I won’t be returning and would not recommend.

Dear Fishport Management,

I recently dined at your restaurant on Thursday, December 12, 2024, and I wanted to share feedback about my experience. As someone who has enjoyed dining at your establishment a few times in the past, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed due to a series of incidents that felt inconsiderate and unprofessional.

- 8:30 PM: We walked in and were promptly seated. We asked if the restaurant was still open, and your staff confirmed that it was, until 10:00 PM.
- 8:40 PM: We placed our order.
- 9:00 PM: The food began to arrive, dish by dish—squab, vegetables, and then, much later, the steamed black cod with black bean sauce. A last call was announced, which was fine as we had already ordered enough food.
- 9:15 PM: While we were still eating, a complimentary dessert unexpectedly arrived at our table. Although thoughtful, it seemed premature as we were far from finishing our meal. A lady walked-in and asked to order honey-garlic spare ribs to go and was rudely told by the male server that the restaurant is closed. The lady looked at her phone and said, "It's only 9:15 PM and it says here you close at 10 PM." Waiter said, "We close!"
- 9:20 PM: The bill was presented to my side without warning, with staff stating they wanted to close the cash register. There was no proper explanation or apology, which left us feeling rushed and unwelcome.

I understand that closing procedures are necessary, but the way it was handled felt dismissive. Closing time was clearly stated as 10:00 PM, and yet we were made to feel uncomfortable and hurried well before then. This not only disrupted our meal but also diminished what should have been an enjoyable experience at your highly recommended restaurant.

As a returning customer, I have come to expect a higher level of service from your establishment. Hospitality goes beyond serving great food—it’s about making guests feel valued and respected. I hope you will take this feedback constructively and address these issues to ensure a better experience for your patrons in the future. How many stars do you think you deserve from this experience?

We came to celebrate a birthday. They have 2 rooms available

We got a bunch of dishes and honestly all of them were really well done. They have some interesting dishes on the menu like the bamboo mushroom and the crab where they set the rice on fire. My favourite dish was definitely the fish skin with the fried tofu. So savoury and delicious.

Service was fast and friendly

Overall the whole meal was pretty good (other than 1 bit which I won't mention here). Atmosphere was lively. I would prefer to sit outside than in the room next time though

Excellent seafood, knowledgeable staff. The only thing was the chicken.... Each chicken dish we had came extremely diced up, and with bones, which was incredibly difficult to eat which my guest just gave up on. The crab and razor clams were delicious though. Would highly recommend bringing all your family and friends here.

Very tasty Chinese cuisine. Fresh seafood, good service, and nice selection of dishes. The tapioca dessert along with the mango ice cream are great desserts!

There is quite a bit of parking in front of the restaurant. Just make sure you don't park in the marked spots "no restaurant parking".

The seafood is a little bit pricey, but the quality is definitely good!

always consistently yummy ? the razor head clams were so fresh we ordered a 2nd round

Come here for the fame! Returned disappointed! The geoduck steamed chicken was a huge fail! Very fishy! I asked the boss and he said to eat as much muscle as possible! Depend on!
