We had the lunch menu and portion is a bit small. Sushi is not good at all if you try other sushi places. There’s fruit flies flying around a bit. We have been here multiple times but this would be our last time since the quality of the food has dropped. Wagyu creamy beef udon is the best out of all dishes

Hideous. I only came here because my regular spots were closed. What a damn waste of money. The $ wagyu tasted like cheap beef. The asparagus was the highlight of my dinner.

Very disappointing. Don’t recommend coming. Ordered the Caesar salad, lettuce wasn’t fresh, had way too much sauce. The wagyu long sushi was even more disappointing, also didn’t taste fresh, the taste was nothing special. The service was lacking, couldn’t find our server most of the time. Truffle corn kaarage was too salty, if u like that then maybe you might enjoy. Price per value of everything is very low. The only positive thing was the interior design, but it was a little crowded.

Tonight, we felt as though we were transported to a little Japanese fishing village — which we've always wanted to visit for some fresh grilled fish. Sitting outside, we could still hear all the shouted Japanese greetings and enthusiastic order placing. It was dark enough that we could ignore the apartment buildings to our left and imagine that we are in Japan for the next 90 minutes. The enthusiastic Japanese dialog was our clue that we are in an authentic Japanese restaurant. It centred us towards an authentic experience of food preparation, presentation, tasting as well as interaction with our servers. The menu items were outstanding and very hard to narrow down. Unlike all the me-too Japanese sushi/sashimi/tempura/teriyaki restaurants, New Fuji offers many choices that are unique to them. And because the servers seem to be Japanese, well, at least they are spoke Japanese with passion, they are able to provide details and traditions for the unusual dishes we were not familiar with to help us make the right choice. We ordered Grilled Zucchini with sweetened soy-based Japanese BBQ sauce, Grilled Day-aged Whole Mackeral with sweetened soy-based Japanese BBQ sauce. We also tried the fresh sheet special Crab & Aosa Seaweed Kamameshi – rice cooked in a traditional clay pot in a kansai style dashi broth, and then mixed with snow crab, mushrooms, bamboo shoots. When served at the table, the rice is then mixed with crab butter, ikura, with a side of fresh uni. The grilled mackeral was delicious. I'm not really a fan of mackeral as I've alway found it dense and dry, but this one was tender and very moist, perfectly cooked. We loved the Kameshi and hope they will keep it on the menu permanently (apparently, they are only trying it out for two weeks to gauge customer reaction.) The evening was delightful and encouraging – we are pleased that we have found a unique Japanese restaurant in Vancouver that offers such unfamilar flavours, service, and overall experience. I'm only sad that it took me so long to try this place. The name 'New Fuji' somehow made me think that it's another typical Japanese restaurant being taken over by new management or something, so, I ignored it previously. But now that we have experienced New Fuji, we look forward to eating here again.

Absolutely loved their lunch menu! $35 for a mini udon, 6 piece sushi, and sashimi salad? I was so full and happy after :)

Staff was very accommodating, we initially had a reservation set for 8:30pm but arrived early at 7pm, and they were able to make things work for us to get an earlier table! Food and service was very pleasant and would definitely recommend! We sat at the table next to the grill and that was a bit too warm unfortunately, but otherwise a very satisfying dining experience.

Great food matched with wonderful service. The variety and taste of the dishes were really good, and thanks to Reena and Iko for their attentive and friendly services. Great ambience also. Even though the price is on the high side, it is worth it.

went here for a dinner and honestly it's just as good as the first time I tried this restaurant. The staff has always been very lively and warm. everyone's attentive even though it's busy~ food wise, everything tastes really good and thoughtfully prepared—id recommend their hamburg steak. I'd also recommend trying out their drink menu, its super deliciousness hehehe

Food was excellent. Service was amazing. My only complaint is we are seated close to the cooking grill so it was really hot for my friends who sat closest to the grill. Lovely restaurant, clean washroom, wonderful experience! We went there for dinner service on a Friday evening in early July. Weather was really nice and we see that they opened their patio for sitting as well.

First time diner, had a fabulous experience. I've told everyone I've met since, how enjoyable it was. The restaurant itself is in a great location, decor is on point. The staff are amazing and the food is delicious. I will be back soon

Manager and kitchen staffs came to my table for greeting. Always feel welcome here and outstanding food & sake recommendations.

Everything was great except for the Waygu chuck flap. To our surprise it was chewy. I don't think I will order this in the future.

Always excellent service and ambience. Patio seating was nice. It was cooler than sitting inside so we were happy. We only got a reservation on patio. It was my son's 27th birthday so it was nice to get a complimentary dessert with a candle on it. Wish they took a Polaroid phot like Raisu. Cocktails are a bit disappointing.

Walking into New Fuji was like opening a doorway to memory—a quiet embrace of warmth and comfort that took me straight to my grandmother's home. The staff were kind and attentive and every dish was beautifully presented, crafted with care and flavour that lingered. It wasn't just a meal —it was a moment to treasure a little taste of home I didn't know I needed.
