You must go! Highly recommend the chef’s table experience if you have never done this! It may be a bit loud& warm but well worth it if you are a foodie. The kitchen & wait staff are phenomenal… water glass always full, wine poured immediately. Chefs were focused; never stopped moving & coordination between the team was seamless! They paid attention to every detail of the food preparation process. We had engaging conversations with both, in spite of how busy they were! I was reticent to order the Brussels sprouts as every restaurant seems to have the burnt, over saturated balsamic glaze. At Nightengale these are a star for a reason; cooked to perfection & dressed in a way that allows the true vegetable to shine through ! Fried chicken did not disappoint! Moist & juicy on the inside, crispy without being burnt on the outside. The maple glaze is a star in its own right, not syrupy & with an exquisite taste. However, I do not think the pickles added anything. Normally not a fan of opera cake but after seeing so many come out , it was my choice & no regrets! Absolutely perfection. It tastes as good as it looks! On a final note, the macchiato was the best I’ve had anywhere, transported me back to Italy. The friend who recommended this restaurant on her trip to Vancouver said the food was so good that she came back and ate here for a second night. I totally second this and if I had another night in the city, this is where I would be eating again! Special thanks to Hannah our waiter, the chefs and the lovely gentleman who seated us!

Solid dining experience with good service and ambience. We ordered 8 dishes to share among 6 guests and not one was a bad choice. Standouts were the clam pasta and roasted mushroom pesto pizza. Italian wine recommendation was spot on. Server was friendly and attentive and kept our glasses full all night. Guests were impressed with the food quality and interior design / bar. This is the gem of the Hawksworth group. We previously had an issue at another restaurant and management really took the feedback to heart to make it right, we certainly feel valued as guests and will be back.

I feel this place is a staple of downtown Vancouver, a legacy restaurant that can't go wrong. If you want a good wholesome freshly made meal this is the place to go. The beets salad is a must.

Very disappointing experience with food and service at Nightingale. My lunch companion and myself ordered several share plates from the menu. When our sourdough bread arrived it was burnt. I pointed this out to our server who did not seemed concerned nor did he offer to replace it. Our pizza crust was so tough it was very difficult chew. But the most disappointing was the Americano coffee. With the first cup the milk curdled. With the second cup the milk curdled. The third cup was drinkable. After the fiasco with the coffee it would have been appropriate for the restaurant to comp the coffee but they did not. Overall experience was disappointing.

The place is beautiful, the food was delicious, our server did not want to be there. Janelle was serving us like she was doing a reluctant favor. What was supposed to be a night of celebration for graduation was absolutely tainted by her attitude. There’s no other way to describe it, she was straight up mean. Do not trust the service with your special occasions.

Fabulous food! The turmeric sauce on the cauliflower was exquisite. Six of us shared dishes...everything was superb. The waitress was delightful. A truly memorable meal.
