I love the staff here specifically Brant, Savanah, and Adam and they made the experience for me on both nights I went. I would happily go back to the restaurant as long as these people are here.
We had a wonderful time at the Faurmont Vancouver Hotel. Brandt (and Savannah and Adam!) made both our nights perfect with incredible service and wonderful conversation. The drinks at the hotel bar were top notch and the food was equally amazing, but the service and atmosphere really made the experience.
My group has a fantastic time at the bar thanks to Brandt & Savannah! The cocktails were a delight, try them all! Adam was a great waiter for us too!!
Drinks were great. Food was sadly disgusting but we were so hungry from travelling. The burger was the worst I’ve had in awhile and for a bill over $100. Rooms here are great but food awful :(
Had a nice brunch buffet experience at Notch8! We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday guest was provided well wishes and offered a complimentary mimosa during the meal. Coffee and tea are included. Our favourite items were the baby shrimp salad and tuna tartare, daily pasta (mushroom penne), the two smoothies (mixed berry and green), porchetta, sirloin, blueberry baked yogurt pudding, crème brûlée, and matcha white chocolate mousse cake. Some misses were the pasta salad (we thought the shells were a little hard and chewy, possibly an undercooked batch), breakfast potatoes (too salty), and vegetables (not enough of a roasted flavour, if that was the intent). It can be hard to maintain a quality while on a hot plate. However, most dishes were done well. The desserts are kept in smaller portions, allowing diners to try a variety of items.
It costs $65 per person before tax, but after doing research, it's the standard rate for brunch buffets in the city. The seating time was 1 hour and 45 minutes, which was a good amount of time, and allowed us some rest between plates. We were very happy with the food and dessert selection! Because of the options, we didn't even get to try everything, such as their chef-attended egg (omelette) station, and many of their desserts. They also offer an afternoon tea and à la carte menu at the same time (Sunday brunch). Our server Wendy was nice and efficient with removing empty plates. We noticed her running around to serve the different tables, and it's often a balancing act. Please send our thanks to her! There is no need to come early if you reserved the first seating time, as the buffet is still being set up; we did 'check in' at the front of the restaurant, and were seated a few minutes after our reservation time. Would be happy to return again in the future.
Came here for Sunday brunch on June 8 at 11:30am to celebrate my wife’s birthday (noted it in the reservation, not that anyone cared). Honestly, it was supposed to be a special day, but it turned into a “never again” experience.
The hostess, Jenny, set the mood right away, no smile, no warmth, just a “let’s get this over with” energy. She sat us right by the entrance, even though there were clearly empty tables further inside. We asked to move, and she generously gave us… another front table. We ended up just moving ourselves. She also didn’t bother to remove the extra cutlery for a two person table, until we asked, 10 minutes later. Her response? A robotic “thanks.” For what? Doing her job?
No one came to take our drink order until I waved someone down. That server said he’d “be right back,” then disappeared like a magic trick. Eventually, a different server stepped in, but the whole experience felt like we were invisible.
Yes, they brought a birthday cake, but it felt more like, “Here, take this and don’t complain” than a genuine gesture. Zero warmth, zero hospitality. Everyone just looked miserable, like they were being forced to be there.
As a restaurant manager, I’m honestly glad I had this experience. Because I went straight back to my team to show them how not to treat guests. We’re running circles around you in terms of service, attitude, and care. If anyone from your staff wants a crash course in actual hospitality, feel free to reach out. I would be happy to help. Because this? This was embarrassing for a place that calls itself a 5 star hotel.
Had a really delicious dinner at Notch8 the other night. Recommend starting with the bread, The chicken schnitzel was so juicy and crispy. The Tagliatelle was okay, the roast cauliflower was DELICIOUS. Really yummy cocktails. I believe our servers name was Justin, and he was great. Very convenient option if you’re staying at the Fairmont.
They also have live music some nights, which created a really beautiful atmosphere.
I was disappointed with the entrees that came out. Greasy and low flavour. Time for a change in either the chef or the menu.
The service from the wait staff however was fantastic!!
Very disappointing for such a price. The service is very subpar. You would get a much better service in a junk food restaurant. The tuna was so plain that we had to add salt and pepper to feel a taste, and the scallops were not washed well as we could feel sand under our teeth. The wine was tasteless and the lemonade was crazy sweet. Never going back to this place again.
Thank you Christina for making my happy hour fun yesterday. ❤️

Went there for thanksgiving. The service lacked, the food was tasty but the price did not reflect the value! Small portion turkey dinner was $79.00. We waited an egregious amount of time in between courses.
Probably will not return.

It was mine and my husband's first time at Notch8 for high tea (we came last month but my review wasn't uploading) and we agreed we would love to come again to experience the next theme! I booked our wedding anniversary celebration here and we both had a wonderful time. You enter through a bookcase door and get transported into a beautiful autumn themed room. The food was delicious and very filling. I mentioned to our server that I am pregnant and he made sure the kitchen knew to adjust the items on the menu as needed. The tea selection was great: we ordered the sencha and maple peach to go with our meal. I enjoyed the maple peach the most as the maple lingers on your tongue. The scones were warm and fluffy and the savoury tier was so satisfying. Thank you so much for the cute celebration dessert as well - it made our day extra special!

Went for the themed high tea and it was amazing!! So much food we had to take leftovers but service was very attentive. Was a bit overpriced imo but still worth it for a unique and yummy experience!
