Relax atmosphere and good food. Ideal before a movie with friends.

I took my family out for dinner at Novo today, and while the food was good, I left the restaurant feeling disappointed because of the way the billing was handled.

When the bill arrived, I checked only to make sure the items were correct. Everything seemed fine, and the total came to $233. When the server brought the payment machine, it automatically opened with an 18% tip option, which I selected.

When I got home and looked at the receipt more carefully, I realized that the restaurant had already added a $33 gratuity to the bill. That means the $233 total already included the tip — and I ended up tipping again on top of an already-included gratuity.

It was extremely frustrating, because this wasn’t clearly communicated, and the server still presented the machine showing default tip options without mentioning that gratuity had already been added. I would expect more transparency, especially when automatic gratuity is included. Customers shouldn’t have to pay double tips by accident.

I hope the restaurant reviews this practice so other guests don’t have the same experience.

Pizza was tasty but quite floppy/soggy. Service was great. Stylish room, but really loud so it was hard to talk. Bizarrely, one song was on repeat for our entire visit, super annoying.

Came here with a couple of friends to try their pizza and pasta. The Bolognese pasta was decent. We were curious about the potato pizza since it sounded unique, but the flavor ended up being a bit too intense for us, quite aromatic to the point of being overpowering. Perhaps we could try something else if we ever were to go back.

Came here for a nice birthday celebration and had a great time. Food was great (just slightly too salty) but the staff were lovely and service was great!

Came in for a happy hour meal and it was a pretty good experience. The salad and meatballs were satisfying, with good portions for the price. Service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere had a modern yet comfortable feel. A solid spot to enjoy Italian dishes, especially if you’re taking advantage of their happy hour.

Great atmosphere out in the patio. The pasta was a bit too oily, and service could’ve been faster, but overall it was alright

Excellent pear and arugula salad to start, then sausage pasta which had a nice warming kick to it (but not too spicy)
