the best wonton soup in the lower mainland. been going there since the early '70s and it's still the same wonton soup recipe.

Dirty. Can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. Servers are miserable.

Drop in for lunch take out, usually wonton soup regularly. Today had a sit down lunch with a friend in the restaurant. Ordered the war wonton. The soup seemed ok, until I had a bit of chicken. The meat was seriously off. I removed it from my mouth and fished out all the other chicken pieces from the soup. The cook either have lost his sense of smell completely, or just don't give damn. I gently alerted the server of the issue and waited for results. Like nothing happened she brought us our bill, no follow up no communication, no bill reduction NOTHING!. We left without making a fuss! I will not be returning. How you do anything is how you do everything. If a possible salmonella or food poisoning of the customer is handled here with less care than spilled water, that's enough information for me to never to visit again.

Parking: We were early enough to get parking right in front of the restaurant.

I went there primarily for the Wonton, BBQ pork, noodle soup. It didn't disappoint. Chewy noodles, great tasting broth and big wontons - at least 5 or 6 in a bowl, lean Chinese char siu...It tasted exactly like how I remembered eating it as a kid. Loved it!😍.
***Note: all the Wonton is made by hand in house***

Also had the Ginger Beef, ... Loads of flavour and so yummy.
We also got the sweet and sour pineapple pork and Singapore curry noodles. No surprises there and all good too. Free bottomless Chinese tea.
Had a great and attentive service. All the staff spoke English and were very kind and nice. 👍👏

Some minor cons:
- Floor is kinda slippery... Looks clean enough tho.
- bathrooms looks wet everywhere but I've seen a lot worse.

Notes:
If you want to reminisce about the old days of good Hong Kong food ... bustling kitchen and fast service this is the place. Even the decor hasn't changed much since the 70's/80's...
It's become one of my hidden unassuming gems of Vancouver.
I would go back there again.
Just leave your snooty expectations out the door.
Btw... There's a tiny dinosaur toy hidden behind the cashier... See If you can spot it. (not your typical Chinese restaurant decor 😄)

The service is horrible and the restaurant is a very old building which gives the atmosphere a dirty look. The floors and walls are quite dirty along with the staff having a horrible attitude not wanting to help you. Food took around 30 minutes just for a plate of fried rice. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The staff is extremely unfriendly and I would honestly give this place a 0 stars if I could. I do NOT recommend this place to anybody. Go spend your money some place better.

The one safe thing to order there I get is the ginger beef hot pot in the cast-iron, you have to ask them to leave the lid on or they bring it and all the heat escapes while you wait the 20 minutes for the race to arrive. I made the terrible mistake of ordering the spicy squid, it was so much batter. It was undercooked and mushy. Unacceptable. When I complained, they would not remove it from the bill. I showed them how it was disgusting and removed it with my hand and squeezed it in my fingers showing the Pasty dough. They still would not. I explained how it was so salty I had never in my life tasted anything with that much MSG. And I actually like MSG but it hurt. I always get the congee because the rice is always lukewarm at best never fresh. Good luck out there. The place should be closed. Health should be inspecting.

I’m not sure what went wrong during my visit to this Chinese restaurant. It all started when I just needed to use the restroom, and my friend suggested we eat there so I could go. At first, I refused because the outside looked like a haunted house, with a broken-down car and flat tires in front.

When we finally went in and ordered, the service was odd—no menus were given. The food we got was terrible. My dish was dry and barely edible, while my friends’ fried rice was wet and unappealing. Looking around, the food at other tables seemed fine, which made us wonder why ours turned out so bad (my two friends look like Indians).

In the end, none of us finished our meals. It was a waste of both money and time. This place left us disappointed, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The noodle soup is pretty good. The noodle texture is very agreeable. Soup base is alright, nothing special but it passes. For a wonton house, I expected more from the wontons, but by all means they were not bad. I might eat there again if I am in the area.

I'm sorry for this review but our family came in for dinner and the food was extremely off-putting. The fried rice was okay but something was rotten in the chicken chop suey. It tasted foul, almost like rotten meat. We are home now and we are scared about how we will feel later.

We will never return.

The food is good. Not high end but a good solid Chinese menu with multi- choices. An old bulding but clean. Service was excellent and very friendly. A long standing institution.

Literally the worst dining experiences I've ever had. After an hour we got ONE of the dishes we ordered and it was cold. We asked where the rest was, waited another 15 mins and then left.

Call for takeout, weekend .40 charge for bag to carry your food out wtf?
Weekday people don't charge for hot sauce, chopsticks and bag to carry your takeout!
Always pay after they bring from the kitchen.
