Decent tasting food but absurdly small portions! Not really worth it for me.

The newly opened, Once Upon A Bite was a pleasant treat! I'm visiting Vancouver from LA where we have ample northern Chinese food and this certainly competes with the best of them. Friendly service and tasty food, what more can you ask for. Looking forward to returning on my next trip to BC.

A self serve restaurant with decent value if you like lamb soup and crispy cake. The soup is on the smaller side but its filling enough with the buns.

Not worth it. Tiny bowl of soup with a tea spoon of noodles and meat for $8

Nice little place both times i went i got some buns which were very good but unfortunately they didn't have many veggie items in stock went back a third and had their noodles and chive pocket which were very good had their flaky crispy red bean bun which needed more filling they really need to use their amazing professional online yelp photos on the menu so that you can see the what the food actually looks like people who dont know what they are ordering will want to try them as the photos are gorgeous

For lamb lovers.. gotta try it! Baozi is one i would suggest you.. cause its like giant size dumplings with soft, chewie, puffy skins.

You wonder what the different types of cuisines are available in China. Let me tell you about the Northern Style. Bite More introduces you to their friendly pricing, quality baked and steamed goods along with their savory and warming lamb dishes. This is a MUST EAT: Famous Shine Valley Lamb Soup + glass noodles + cabbage. LOVED this one too. I love lamb so this noodle soup gave me a warm hug when I was eating it. The glass noodles filled me up and the white pepper in the soup gave a light spice. Although the bowl looked small, for less than $7 you get a quality dish. The lamb slices with rice is an alternative to the noodles in soup. It was a hardy and simple dish but to elevate it, you must eat it with their chilli oil I tried their pan fried buns (生煎包) first and as a lover of the Shanghainese style, I was impressed with the filling. The round pleated buns had a very fragrant filling while the meat was tender for both the oval and round buns. They got the crispy bottoms correct. The steam buns were massive and I thought the pan fried buns were flavourful, but nope, the steamed buns had very distinct meat taste and flavour. With just a sniff, the lamb bun was a for sure winner. The tender meat juices soaked into the bun itself and there were no gamey flavour. Just pure lamb meat. The pork and beef buns also had very obvious personal flavours. You can definitely taste the difference from Bite More and other regular steam buns. The meat ratio was great with barely any veggies taking up the filling. They offer tri-colour dumplings that have very fragrant meat fillings. I love how they use natural colouring like spinach instead of food dyes. Truly appreciate the down to earth cooking here. This is my first time trying a Chinese Burger (肉夾饃). They were Juicy meat filled sandwiches with a charred flat wheat bread. The meat was super juicy as I had to use tissues multiple times to wipe the dripping meat juice off myself. The bread did a semi good job at soaking about the meat juices so beware! Crispy Cakes: 燒餅. This was also my first time having a shao bing that was flakey with filling weaved into the bun. It had a super flaky exterior and soft white mantou interior. They offer 5 flavours: sugar, 5 spice, red bean, green onion + ham, sesame. My favourite was red bean and sugar. I brought some home for my mother to try and it definitely kept very well in the fridge for more than 2 days. Just reheat them in the oven and it becomes the same flakey and soft goodness. Most items on the menu are under $10. With different variations of carbs and meat options. It is definitely a great student and family friendly place to eat!
