This was place was very disappointing. From the description on the website, it sounded really interesting being that it was once the trading floor for the Vancouver Stock Exchange. There are tables piled up by the front entrance, not a good look or impression. Then as you go downstairs all that could be heard were lots of really loud fans. There were industrial fans all over the place that were extremely loud. The lights were dazzling bright. The waiter wanted our order almost immediately after sitting at the table, then after 10 minutes came back and told us the kitchen was closing so we needed to order (it was 7:30pm). The food was okay, nothing special. This place could be so much more. With some nice light jazz music playing, dim lights to give it more of a speakeasy style, it would be inviting. It felt like a cafeteria and we didn't feel welcome.
Happy hour until 6pm!

Service was friendly, very affordable prices. A lot of choice from the happy hour menu, however, the happy hour menu items are a little too out of the ordinary, for example, didn't expect there would be toasts, and salads. Would love to see more opens like wings, dips. dumplings instead. Overall, still a great place and will return for sure

Really cool pub with a solid happy hour menu and shockingly good appies. I really wish they'd lean into the classic vibe and play more appropriate music. Random top 40 garbage through a tinny speaker totally ruins the vibe.

Went for a cocktail and shared the Burrata Salad, Butter Garlic Shrimp and Ceviche - all were delicious and the drinks were on point! The owner, chef and server are all lovely humans - support this gem.

Had a short time to visit and grab a bite before having to go elsewhere. Venue is small but very cool. Ended up with the happy hour menu (we shared the spring rolls, potato wedges, smoked salmon and meatballs) - all were delicious! Service was great and it wasn't busy (surprisingly given it was happy hour)
Inaccurate information on both Google map and the place's website:
The restaurant closes at 6pm instead 10pm, inaccuracy #1.
Happy hours stop at 530pm instead of 6pm, the waitress turned us away saying the kitchen already closed when we arrived at 530 even just for takeout, inaccuracy #2.
Do your customers a favor, put accurate information both on your own website and Google map, and put a sign outside if you wanna go home early so people don't have to plan their trip around your loose schedule.

Open Outcry is an intimate restaurant located in a great space: the former bidding floor of the historic 1928 Vancouver Stock Exchange. Many of the historic decorative features of this room have been sympathetically recreated, including an old blackboard listing stock prices of the era. Staff are very attentive and the liquor and food menus are great. The food was deliciously prepared. The prices for the drinks and food are moderate. I liked the fact that the background noise level in Open Outcry is low to moderate so it was perfect for carrying on engaging conversations with several people at the table. I will definitely be going back to Open Outcry.
Understaffed when we were there, 40 minute wait for drinks etc., owners need to do better at scheduling. Staff tried their best

Terrible service. 30 minutes after placing the order, we still haven’t got our drinks. The waiter is negligent at the best. She was apathetic. Didn’t bother to squeeze out a fake laugh to begin with. The 7 of us just asked for a bottle of wine but she wasn’t able to find the wine and when we told her we could have a beer instead or anything just to get the group some drinks, she was dismissive and didn’t show any signs of apology. This venue shouldn’t even stay in business with this kind of service. We came here as a group so you already have that mandatory gratitude charge. Is this how you treat patrons?

El local oscuro y lúgubre. El servicio bueno, aunque sólo estábamos nosotros, en julio a las 19.30, un poco extraño. La comida sin más

So, my mom and I discovered this place by accident, but it's actually quite good. Mom really enjoyed the Salmon Toast (huge portion, btw, a very good value for the price) and she said it was one of the best things she's ever had on a happy hour menu. I felt the mango on the salmon toast was an unusual but very smart idea for the flavor profile. The red peppers were excellent with delicious goat cheese and a balsamic drizzle. Maybe we really beat the crowd here coming in at 330ish on a Monday but we were delighted by the food and great service. Definitely reccomend!

Cocktails are alright affordable and taste good. Waiter took away my unfinished drink when I went to the washroom. The place was empty. I don’t know why he tried to rush me out won’t be coming back!
