The coffee is just not good. Very acidic and smells burnt.

Not a bad brunch joint at all! The atmosphere is pretty casual, but the interior is lovely-- its a repurposed vintage building with a ground level and second floor. I ordered the breakfast burger and it was decently well done but nothing spectacular; the side of roasted potatoes was unimpressive, however, considering other brunch places that do sides like golden hash, truffle frites, etc. Its a good place to check out overall but not my #1 pick for brunch. Gets pretty busy at prime brunch time (10 am - 2 pm) so make reservations!

Came here for my friend's birthday. I had never heard of this place, so I asked my friend how she found it as she rarely goes downtown. She saw it on someone's feed. I got the kefta skillet which has Moroccan meatball and 2 poached eggs on top of tomato sauce and olive. The meatball has a nice blend of spices and the sauce compliments it. The place has two upper levels on each side of the building, which looks down the middle of the place and kitchen. Because it is so open, it can get quite loud in there with everyone talking, the sound bounces/echoes. The service is great, the food came quickly and our waitress was attentive.

Pallet Coffee Roasters impresses with its commitment to quality and sustainability. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for leisurely afternoons. Their coffee, sourced from ethical farms, has a distinct flavor profile, balancing boldness and subtlety. The Kenyan single-origin particularly stands out with its bright, fruity notes. The baristas are knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience. While the food menu is limited, what's offered is fresh and complements the coffee. Prices are slightly above average, but justified by the quality. A must-visit for coffee aficionados in the area.

Decent brunch place with nice ambiance at a reasonable price downtown. The space is cool, a mix of modern and heritage. It can get pretty loud in there so it's not a place for quiet conversations. Food came out fast, and the huevos rotos was tasty. Big portion, too. The kefta skillet was good, but my partner found the portion to be too small. Waitress was friendly.

First off, I want to start off by saying the reason for the 1 star is mainly because our waiter was really attentive and nice. However, we stopped here for breakfast, and everything was going well until I bit into my scrambled eggs, only to find a weird object in them. It was a hard black piece of who knows what that the manager came to defend and claim was an avocado pit (which it most definitely was not). I placed a picture on this review so we can take a poll and try to figure out what it actually is... any guesses? All I ate from my breakfast plate was toast and beans, as everything else gave me the ick after that incident. The manager also acted as if he was doing me a favor by taking off a couple of dollars off my dish, which was ridiculous. Overall, skip this place and go elsewhere. You never know what the hell their kitchen is up to and what will end up in your food!

Reasonable prices for a varied and diverse breakfast menu! Good mix of your usual fare and new breakfast items to try. Also offers a coffee shop for casual sitting and to go offerings if not looking for dine in.

I was treated to lunch at 'Palate Kitchen' when on business in Vancouver. On entering the all-day cafe you are struck by the elegance and character of this Georgian Revival Style heritage building which dates back to 1921 when it was the special headquarters for one of the province's largest insurance and real estate firms. Its upscale and bright interior is a pleasant environment to enjoy the mouthwatering menu... I had the Cajun Chicken Sandwich and it was superb in quality, taste and presentation. I can certainly recommend dining here.

Wow my friend and I enjoyed our experience at the restaurant. It looks small on the outside but the restaurant is beautiful on the inside. I was a bit confused as I walked in as there was a cafe on the right side. But I found the host stand easily as I walked forward. We were seated on the second floor on the side by the wall. It was nice, not too crowded with elegant windows looking out the street. I ordered the Huevos Rotos and my friend got the palate breakfast. This was easily the best brunch I've had. The eggs were cooked just right and the dish was flavourful but the sauce was not overpowering at all. We were both stuffed by the end of the meal. They also had a nice book of drink selections that I curiously looked through. Great service from the hostess but the server was ok. We would love to come back to try the afternoon tea!

Their huevos rotos are so delicious! Lots of meat, great flavor, everything was cooked to perfection . Service was phenomenal, friendly multilingual staff. Ambiance was great, no wait time, everything was very clean and open. Get the hot chocolate, it is amazing!

I really love the ambiance of this place! It's a great place to grab brunch! We got the French toast and the poke bowl and would definitely come here again for brunch. It's very chatty inside the place but that is great!
