I would say this place is fantastic!! We had a family trip to Vancouver with a three year old kid. We booked a double-bed room but decided to upgrade to a suite when we arrived there. The suite had one king bed and one sofa bed, which perfectly fits for us. The room is clean and comfortable, especially the mattress. Also, the view from the hotel is amazing. We love the staffs there, they are very friendly and nice. My kid left a bottle of milk in the dining area, the lady there kept it and returned to us the next day. We have a great experience there.
The only issue was the bathroom, when we took a shower we found the water was not that warm, which made the kid feel uncomfortable and unwilling to take the shower.
Overall, we strongly recommend this hotel. We will definitely visit again next time when we are in Vancouver.
I’m usually more of a central downtown Vancouver hotel person, for example, the Wall Centre has been my go-to for years. But thanks to a great promotion through Stay Vancouver Hotels, I decided to try a few properties I’d long heard about. Pan Pacific had been on my list for some time, though I’d been warned by a few people that it felt a bit “dated.” Undaunted, I booked a mid-week stay and I’m very glad I did.
Right off the bat, the location is a huge win. Being able to take the SkyTrain directly from the airport to Waterfront Station and walk a few buildings over to the hotel was a godsend. Compared to getting off at Yaletown or City Centre and doing a 10–15 minute walk to places like the Wall Centre, this made arrival effortless.
Check-in was equally smooth. I was greeted by Ken at the front desk, who was excellent. We hit a small snag with the promotion details and instead of keeping me waiting while he sorted it out, he simply handed me my key and assured me he’d take care of everything. That prioritization (getting the guest settled first) really stood out for me. I was also pleasantly surprised to be upgraded from a Premier King (City View) to an Executive King with a harbour view.
The room itself was stunning. I’m not sure what others meant by “dated”, I found the room to be very well maintained and no more “old” than the Wall Centre. The Executive King room was bigger than expected, with a beautiful curved window running the full length of the room and overlooking the harbour. I loved waking up to that view every morning.
Housekeeping was also excellent. They seemed to know exactly when I’d stepped out and were incredibly attentive (no need to call or hang a sign) and the room was always refreshed promptly. That level of awareness and consistency is something many hotels struggle with, and Pan Pacific clearly has it dialed in.
One small thing worth noting for prospective guests: seaplanes do take off from the harbour regularly throughout the day. The engine noise lasts only a minute or two each time, but it’s noticeable. If you’re working from the room or on calls, it’s something to be aware of. That said, it didn’t detract from my stay, and I genuinely enjoyed working from the room.
Overall, this was a very comfortable, well-run stay, and the service (especially at check-in) left a strong impression. I’d happily return and would absolutely consider Pan Pacific again for future Vancouver trips.
Cool product features!
It’s a fantastic place. Rooms are nice service was decent, and you can’t get more downtown Vancouver than where this hotel is at. Super central and easy access to skytrains and more.
Great hotel on the water with beautiful views, nice and close to gas town and all the restaurants and shops. Staff are very accommodating and the rooms are clean.
Great hotel with a nice Jan 1st buffet
Comfortable beds, and great service, but the pool was lukewarm and the hot tub jets were not working. The hotel bar was open for dinner, but was way overpriced and the food was not great. We received an overcooked stead with lots of gristle and slimy onions for $58. My chicken sandwich was pricey and was also overcooked and rubbery. Not what I'd expect for the price. Parking should also be included in the hotel fees. We'll be trying the Fairmont across the road next time.
We stayed here last year for a week due to our convention. I’m just dreaming to stay here and voila because of convention I did try to experience it and it’s great.
I just book again today for my brother’s anniversary with the excellent assistance of Ms. Alba she went beyond my expectations. Hope the manager will read this, she is a big asset to your company. Kudos Ms. Alba. God bless
This hotel reminds me of going to a tower with a revolving restaurant, the views are great and that’s what you’re paying for essentially.
This hotel boasts being a 5 star hotel, however the hotel is severely understaffed, and it’s not the personalized service you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. This hotel is definitely not a 5 star hotel.
We stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas. The views of the mountains and water were great, however we were placed on the 10th floor which was right beside the pool. The windows are not sound proof at all and so at 6:00am and 10:00pm you could literally hear people in the pool splashing around, yelling and talking. The windows are also not triple pane which created very cold room temperatures as there was a draft. Keep all this in mind when you spend $500 a night for a room at this hotel.
House keeping was weak, the welcome letter from the hotel manager was reused and had stains on it from the previous guests, the glasses left for in room drinks were stained from the last guests. After my first night, the room was cleaned however there was bathtub rings left, the glasses weren’t changed and the room looked and felt tired (definitely not a 5 star feeling)
In room dinning pizza was burned and had to reorder.
The staff we talked to were friendly for the most part, but it just overall lacked that special feeling you were staying in an upscale hotel. Probably because it’s more of a conference centre, cruise ship terminal hotel.
There was no construction notice that the top floors were being renovated.
At check in I had asked for truffles to be delivered to the room as a treat for Christmas Eve… they never showed up
At the restaurant I was literally interrupted as I was eating breakfast and asked to show my breakfast voucher, the server wouldn’t leave until I showed them, even as I asked if I it had to be shown this minute, and he said yes. (This wouldn’t happen in a 5 star hotel)
The breakfast buffet food items were quite often empty and you had to track down staff to replenish items, every day all the pastries were dried out and bland. (They apparently have a pastry chef on site, sure didn’t seem like it)
It wasn’t a horrible stay, but it wasn’t overly great
For the price point we’d probably stay at a different more higher end hotel.
the worst front desk at a hotel of this caliber i have ever encountered, seriously
i would avoid every hotel of this brand worldwide
we ate here for their new year's brunch, and the service was exceptional, but my wife left her earphone case behind
we tried calling the front desk and they said they couldnt find it and they had even checked with wait staff and security, but we went anyway since the case location was trackable on her google account
turns out the wait staff immediately found and reported it went we left and returned it to us immediately when we got to the restaurant
so:
the front desk BLATANTLY LIED at every step of the way and made no effort at service entirely
this is unacceptable no matter the reason. i will never give any money to pan pacific in the future because of this, good job
Restaurantji Recommends
Excellent place to stay and everything is close by
Great hotel, staff, location and view....
I want to commend Amir, the hotel manager during my stay. I had a very bad initial experience with Amanda, front desk agent, and Amir immediately remediated the issue. He’s the consummate professional: calm, attentive, proactive and adroitly gifted. Big thumbs up for him!
Location is perfectly situated and beautiful. The checkin process took a little longer than expected but the employee was apologetic. Washroom was a bit underwhelming but the beds were comfy. Self parking was easy and right under the building for $59.83/day vs the $80 for valet. If you plan to leave with your car valet is worth it as the self parking did not include ins/outs.
Great hotel, wonderful service and it was very comfortable.
