Really nice and juicy chicken but drip coffee is always cold
The server was busy cleaning and didn’t take my order right away. So I was waiting for her to finish her cleaning until she can finally take my order. It was a little bit awkward, but no big deal. Then I ordered a cup of earl grey latte. It came super hot with no lid or sleeve cup holder. I only had one free hand to hold the drink. While holding the drink and walking to a table, I spilled and burned myself. I don’t want to complain, but I think the server really needs some safety training regarding hot drinks.

Lady with the glasses is angry in the morning and needs better training on foodsafe..wearing cloth gloves, touching her face and glasses then inside of cups.

Food comes very fast, portion size seems smaller than before. And there’s only 1 type of baked pasta a day (it was fine though). Garlic toast was fine, the salad dressing was great!! Pasta and garlic toast for 11 dollars is alright. UBC cinnamon bun was tasty but hard, maybe it was from the day before. I want to try the roast chicken leg next time.

Worst coffee on campus lol lukewarm and watered down drip, latte is just a coffee flavoured milk drink
Very good cafe to have a quick bite or takeout on campus! The prices are reasonable, and they have plenty of study space around as well. I highly recommend their barbecue chicken flatbread :)

I’ve been here a couple times and each time the experience gets less and less pleasant. My most recent experience involves purchasing a self serve coffee. The containers in the coffee were almost empty and I asked for a freshly brewed coffee. The old lady questioned why she should give me the freshly brewed coffee, which is rude. I told her that I would like it since the coffee was probably cold after sitting on the counter for 20+ minutes. She did not want to replace the old coffee with the freshly brewed coffee. There are levels of stinginess and by far this is pretty low. I will not be coming back here again. The area is convenient but I would rather spend some time walking to Starbucks than grab coffee here.

pretty decent food prices and they take UBC card here (at least when I last tried!)I like the soups here as a filling and warming snack between my classes here. The pastas are pretty decent, but nothing special here. When I lived on campus, this was my favourite alternative to eating residence food! The cashiers/servers here are honestly pretty unfriendly. Recently went and ordered soup and the lady didn't even look at me or say anything to me the entire time...not sure why.

I seem to remember the pasta here being better… I had the Alla Norma today for the first time in a long while and was disappointed to get a stereotypical university cafeteria meal. The pasta sauce was fine and there were lots of veggies, so the dish likely would have been decent if it was cooked properly, but the pasta and vegetables were over-cooked and mushy, presumably from sitting in a hot-holding unit for who knows how long. The garlic bread was soaked and then some in butter. There was enough pooled in the nooks of the bread that I could just tip the bread over and pour it off. It’s not like the food was phenomenal before, but I thought it was good enough for a quick-service cafe, but this was just lazy. The baked goods are still the same as you get at other UBC cafes, which I’m mostly a fan of. I find that the decaf espresso in drinks has kind of a burnt taste; it’s alright in lattes, but I had it as an americano today and it wasn’t really worth it for me.On the upside, the value is decent. The pastas and flatbreads are heartier fare than you’ll find at most of the coffee shops (UBC-owned or not) around campus, and my pasta and (big) cookie today came out to about $14 total. The service is usually friendly enough and the space is nice. They have dine-in plates and mugs but you need to specifically request them - they will not ask you.

Asked for a green tea and was given chai tea...
If you order a cappuccino or latte, you will get a cup full of foam. Prices are same as Starbucks. Also some of the servers are not that friendly.
