Peya’s food is like nothing I’ve had before. The flavours are bold and familiar like you would find in Indian food but they hit you with subtlety and smoothness, and I guess that’s where the French influence comes in. Everything we had was delicious and refined and beautifully presented. I’m happy to see elevated food in a contemporary yet comfortable atmosphere right in the neighbourhood.
Amazing French Indian Fusion Cuisine at the new PEYA in East Vancouver. Peya means Love, Laughter & Food. We had the Curry Gibson Cocktail, Burrata & Sweet Potato Fondant, Rasam Mussels, Fig & Goat Cheese Samosas, Rabbit Briyani, Butter Naan & Chai Crème Brûlée. What a gem of a restaurant at Hastings Sunrise ! Everything we ordered was a wonderful explosion of flavours . Shared amongst six of us we really enjoyed the samosas , rabbit kebobs , mussels , garlic naan , daal and rabbit biryani . The Cornish hen is tasty but would not recommend it as a sharing dish as it is hard to cut up . The cocktails were imaginative and delicious especially with a bump of caviar .
