My 16 year-old daughter and I found Peya via OpenTable and were intrigued by the Indian-French fusion menu. It did not disappoint. We loved absolutely everything we ordered. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The servers, staff, and owner were so nice. We enjoyed talking with Chris at the bar. Be sure to go to Peya, and, if you live in Vancouver, make it a regular spot.
Overall ambiance was lovely, our 2 servers were so nice and gave us recommendations for our first time there. However, the food was only okay. Our elk tartar had too much onions and not enough elk meat. Onion was too pungent and that's all you could taste, no other flavors came through. Our halibut wasn't cooked through, it was still clear in the middle and the chef took a look at it. Chef said if you overcook it, it would be tough but if it was actually cooked through...
It was our first time at Peya and we absolutely loved it. Our person was Shaunessy and he was amazing in explaining about all the dishes and even helped us picking up what to order according to our preferences. We would highly recommend Peya to anyone who wants to try the tried and tested Indian dishes with an innovative twist. All the dishes we ordered were pleasantly surprising and perfectly done. Thumbs up to Peya!!!!
