Sooooo have been coming here 2-3 times a month since they've opened. We love the flavour of Vietnamese food and we were so happy when this opened in the neighbourhood.
We have tried most of the phos and the rice dishes. I can't say any have been exceptional but before today all have been good enough to keep us coming back.
Today was something else. The beef smelled and tasted old. Rice noodles didn't taste great and seemed like they had been made hours before. The pho had minimal flavour and didn't really taste like pho.
Sadly, not sure if we will be back.

This was my second visit here. My first experience was fine, so I decided to come back, but this time was a real disappointment.
Right when I walked in, I almost slipped because the floor was so slippery. On my way out, I had to hold onto tables to keep from falling -.-
There was only one other group already dining. I ordered two lemongrass dishes to-go and ended up waiting 25 minutes. To make it worse, a group of four who came in after me got their food first.
The food itself barely had any vegetables, the chicken was bland, and the pork was way too tough and flavorless. The chef must have changed. I won’t be coming back again!

Service is very good and food is very fresh but the broth is way too sweet… too much added sugar.
Pho Express on Thurlow is a delightful spot for Vietnamese cuisine in Vancouver. The restaurant is known for its quick service and affordable prices. The pho is particularly popular, with a rich and flavorful broth that keeps customers coming back. The menu also offers a variety of other Vietnamese dishes, including fresh spring rolls and banh mi sandwiches.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it a great place for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Overall, Pho Express on Thurlow is a solid choice for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese food in the heart of Vancouver.

This is a fairly new Vietnamese restaurant opened in the Vancouver downtown core. At lunch break today I ordered Bun Bo Hue which is spicy beef noodle soup to take back to my office to eat at my desk. To my surprise when I opened the bag, both the noodles and the soup were packed, although separately as they should be, in 2 tiny plastic bowls. There was no way I could combine them together to eat. This was the very first time I encounter this situation. Many other places where I ordered food to take out would have the noodles packed in a bigger bowl and the soup would be in the smaller bowl so that the soup could be added to the noodle bowl later. Not only that I was given pho rice noodles and not vermicelli noodles! I was then told by one of the staff when I made the call to the reataurant that I could try by trasferring half of the noodles to half of the soup - she had no idea that both of the bowls were full to the rim and I was not given any extra bowl to even try to do that 😄. I ended up asking around to borrow a bigger soup bowl in order to eat my lunch. The soup was definitely not authentic and as tasty but was good enough for my convenience and cravings. I think it would be better if you eat in instead of takeout but I hope the owner would take this as a constructive feedback and would make changes to have how take-out orders should be packed for downtown workers who would eat at their desks.
There shouldn’t be shell on my fried egg, I think it’s a pretty basic ask
I walked into the restaurant around 1pm today and took a seat. I waited about 10 minutes before I had to ask for a menu. When I saw the prices, I was shocked. I mean, $16.20 for a small size? Okay... I wasted 15 minutes of my lunch break already, I might as well order something. When I received my bowl of pho, it was tiny and nothing special. There are many other places downtown that have similar prices and taste better. I understand that this place is called "Pho Express & Chill", but they are taking it way too literally. I will not be returning nor wasting my time again.

I've been here on two occasions, the pho was ok, broth too salty and did not arrive hot. The bun bo hue was good. The shrimp salad roll (not authentic, no herbs). Not good enough for 3 stars, but perhaps 2.5.

Cute patio but food is meh at best. Salad roll was very disappointing, banh mi is not bad but not memorable either. Overall lacks flavour

I had vermicelli noodle bowl. Roll tasted like onion no flavour, the rest was just bland. Not a great first impression. Definitely work on the. Roll dip mixture and keep food hot . I may try once more since we can all have a bad day.

We recently tried this new Pho place, and it was a very disappointing experience. We ordered salad rolls, veggie and chicken pho, and unfortunately, it was the worst pho we have ever tasted. The chicken and tofu were very dry and were so hard to chew, with the tofu so oily in every bite. The vegetables were overcooked and the broth was bland—more like greasy hot water than the rich, flavorful broth you'd expect. Everything else was stale, dry, and lacked any real flavor. Despite our usual love for pho, this place was a major letdown, and we won’t be visiting again.
Over priced for the quantity and quality.
I got chicken over vermicelli where the chicken was heated from a cold state (was hot outside dead cold inside), their Chili Oil is old and sour which tasted like an over expired condiment, just tasted rank/spoiled (it's Chili Oil for heaven's sake, how old was it? Why would you have spoiled Chili Oil in a new restaurant?)
The people working there are awesome, very attentive, the lady that worked the kitchen gave me the food surprisingly fast, I was really hungry but really couldn't stomach all of this after 2 bites, especially after mixing in the rank chili oil and just returned it with a smile saying sorry and that the chicken is cold the Chili Oil is spoiled for some reason and I lost my appetite, I didn't ask and they didn't offer any refund (that's OK), she didn't care :D, seemed pretty obvious she was only worried about the money. They just opened this place and it took a while to open, I was super excited to have Vietnamese food near my house, seriously asking, you just opened a new restaurant and this is what you serve?
There are better Vietnamese food served around here and I'll just need to walk a bit further, but this place disappointed. I'll come back in 1 year to try again and I promise I'll re-rate if better.

This piece came out in my pho, therefore I didn't want to eat it. Plus the bathroom function sucks
