I used to love this place. But tonight I ordered a seafood dish and the mussel had seaweed sticking out of it, my husband put it aside. Then after we ate, he inspected it and the vegetation was completely lodged inside the body/mouth of the mussel. Really realllly weird. Btw, it was not the beard of the muscle, there was a bunch of seaweed/vegetation inside.

This likely means that the clam was likely dead before cooking, and it could have made someone severely ill.

They saw seaweed sticking out of the mouth of this mussel, cooked it and served it to me. I cannot trust the cook here anymore. They put profits in front of safety.

My last bite of noodle had a faint taste of dish soap, they serve room temp tap water. My dish said it had egg, but there never is.

The food is not cheap. Yet, they skimp and treat customers like. there is serious lack of quality here. It’s dangerous imo. It sucks, I’ll never go back.

I took a picture of my dish because I love it. And looking back, I noticed that they had COVERED the seaweed sticking out with a fish patty. How positively disgusting. The chef should be ashamed of putting money before safety of PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Be careful people.

This restaurant has new management. Unfortunately there isn’t a choice of a small bowl or large bowl of pho There is only pho which is in a small bowl and they are charging the large bowl price they used to have under the old management. Basically less for more money. Good is good so is service. I wish I could choose my bowl size. Been eating here for years. Will be looking for a new pho restaurant in the West End.

Beautiful art work on the walls bring the wonder of Vietnam to Vancouver. The menu is excellent; we had the grilled pork banh mi and some spring rolls. Both packed full of fresh veggies and marinated meat, it was one of the most authentic lunches we've had outside of Vietnam. Friendly server and good prices. I can't recommend this place enough!

My husband and I just finished a walk on the seawall and had a bowl of the lemongrass chicken pho. It’s so delicious!!the ingredients are really fresh and there is so much chicken and the broth is amazing!!
The service and cleanliness of the restaurant is spot on.
We will be back soon, this just might be the motivation to get us around our 11 Kilometre walk ??

Wow, they have recently upped their food game and should now give all other Vietnamese restaurants in the area a run for their money. I come to this place because it’s close and because I like the kind people who work here (thank you chef Jolie and Danny!). The food was good but not great. But… now Jolie and Danny have really transformed the place by reducing the many regular dishes on the menu and upped the quality and type of meals. I had the new Bun Cha Hanoi main course and it was superb. I feel like I am back in Hanoi! It is grilled pork, house pork patties, pickled veggies, fresh herbs, salad and fish sauce/soup stock. Oh man…my new favourite dish. Give them a try and check out the roomy place and the fantastic and rare 6 person booths!

I ate there a couple times some time ago and food was fine, however, they recently changed their menu and removed a whole bunch of items, and only left what they called “the most popular” dishes. Not sure if it was a good idea to be honest. Because what I tried ( soup with lemongrass chicken) was fine but not the dish I was actually planning on getting.
The staff are very friendly though and the restaurant seems very clean. I just wish they brought back all the usual Vietnamese dishes.

UPDATE 2024-08 Interior, staff and menu have all changed. But food is still good! Had the fried shrimp (yummy! Not greasy), spring roll (get the veggie one! It has mango, avocado and crunchy taro! So good!) Pho only comes in one size now, but taste is the same. Prices have definitely gone up, but I guess it was impossible to keep things how they were.

Honestly just so consistent and delicious.

Service is always good. Value is good too. It's so unassuming from the outside that it's easy to just passby. Interior is simple and clean.

Their chicken wings are spot on, rolls are hefty, pho broth is on point and meat is very good quality. Add to that their amazing chili oil (i literally bought some - so good!)

Definitely worth a visit. We come here often now.

Me and my brother stopped by at this little gem during our visit to English Bay on Wednesday and to my surprise, the experience was spectacular! Our server Jolie was very attentive and caring during our time at Q&M so a big shoutout to her!

We got recommended the Bun Ca Cay, which is a northern Vietnamese style vermicelli soup dish. Prices are pretty much the same as other Vietnamese restaurants, but what stood out the most has to be the portion, which is really generous considering the price of the bowl. The broth has a really clean and natural sweetness to it, and the fish cakes and deep-fried fish filet are really flavourful too! Definitely coming back here again with my friends!
