Thoroughly enjoyed the experience from beginning to end, drinks to food, all great. I cant remember what was in the oysters that we were given but that sauce was so good. And the clarified fruit loops cocktail was super interesting, unique experience and will be going again for sure.

We visited during the annual city-wide restaurant month and tried the multi-course tasting menu. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. Standouts were chicken lollipops in a soy sauce with an egg yolk, tuna tartare, ling cod served on a light fresh tomato sauce, and a take on classic Korean barbecue with grilled beef.

But everything was excellent. The space is beautiful and the service friendly and attentive

Our new favorite restaurant in Vancouver!

What a great experience at Pidgin! We went during the dine out festival and the food was amazing! The team was attentive, bringing food and drinks just at the right time and food was prepared with so much detail and care. Food looked great and tasted delicious, a rainbow of flavors which flowed through the courses. Will come again 😊

I did the dine out experience and left incredibly disappointed. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere was lovely, however, the food was so underwhelming. Bland, boring, fish was overcooked, just complete mediocrity.

We tried the DOVF menu: the food tastes great in general. But the plating could be improved.

We were happy with all 3 bite-sized appetizers. The eggplant nori roll was smoky and refreshing; the kimchi sauce gives it a nice kick. The tuna tartare was nicely seasoned; the taro chip provides the crunch. The tsukune chicken skewer is kinda done the conventional way, but instead of yakitori tare, it comes with a sweet soy and egg yolk dip, which is tasty. For the croquette, I was expecting mushroom filling in mash potato. But it's 100% mushrooms instead. IMO, it's a tad under-seasoned, and I prefer slightly more mayo. The sweet potato agnolotti is surprisingly nice -- the filling is creamy and sweet, nicely balanced by the sweet soy glaze. Then the steamed lingcod sports perfect doneness; the middle Eastern spices turn it into something exotic. Finally, the Korean BBQ beef striploin with lettuce, fried enokitake(?), and Asian slaw was a tour de force. The beef is perfectly medium-rare. The slaw brightens up the whole thing with crisp texture and minty, herby freshness. The fried enokitake adds a lovely crunch. Even the hojicha posset with sake and yuzu jelly is loaded with balanced flavors.

On the down side, I kind of expected a bit more refinement in the serving vessels and more instagrammable presentations, which PidGin seems to under-deliver. The lettuce that comes with the beef striploin was randomly thrown on the plate. The posset would also benefit from neater and more 3D plating. Not sure if the chefs don't want to spend too much time on plating because it's a DOVF menu... Overall, I'd still recommend it at this price point.

One of the best restaurants in Vancouver. Tucked away at the edge of Gaston, this place serves some amazing dishes and has a great seasonal tasting menu. My wife and I have come here 3 years in a row for our anniversary and each time has not disappointed. If you have the chance you have to book the chef's table.

We had the most incredible dinner date at PiDGiN last night.

The food was out-of-this-world delicious. Every single bite was a flavour explosion. The creative Asian-French fusion is genius! We went for the tasting menu. Nothing was average. Every course was bold, playful, perfectly balanced, and genuinely delicious with every bite. The chefs are clearly incredibly talented, innovative and precise, Michelin recommended for a reason!

Excellent Asian Fusion food (at least how I would classify it). Between Bao, Roti with a super yummy curry sauce, swell cocktails, eggplant skewers, and other dishes, just wonderful.

Really phenomenal flavors and value for fine dining here.

I’ve been coming for years and try to stop by every time in Vancouver (I live in Seattle). It’s easily my favorite restaurant in Vancouver, one one of my favorites overall.

Despite only coming in 1-2 times a year, the staff still recognize me and welcome me back. The food is always exceptional, the drinks are paired beautifully and they find such incredible small batch drinks from tiny local producers I’d never discover on my own.

They do art here. Definitely visit if you’ve got the option. The chefs table is a great way to engage with chefs at the top of their craft too!

I had high hopes, but I have to say, I was very underwhelmed with the food. I had the tasting menu, and I found some of the pieces poorly prepared - fat not rendered properly, some flavours overpowering others. To be fair, some were good - the oyster was very good and spicy and the flavours complemented each other well. The beef cheek was almost inedible - I didn’t even finish the small plate. Other things were just kind of fine, which I don’t expect for this price tag. Cocktails were very good though. Overall, I’m afraid I didn’t think it was worth the price tag.
