Food:
Overall, the foods were like having a delicious homecooked Filipino feast with generous portions!

I chose a lunch special; they gave an in-house soup as a complimentary appetizer. It does remind me of having a veggie & Chinese shark fin soup, and it does taste great — it compensates my time of waiting for the main course 🍲

Then the pork adobo w/ lumpiang meal combo arrived. They were so savoury, really flavourful, and all well-cooked! Definitely an excellent value and worth the try 🍛 The portion size was like 2 servings worth, so it may be worth bringing a lunch box if eating alone (they charge $1 / container).

Then I had the buko pandan sherbet for dessert. It had just the right amount of sweetness and a nice coconuty creaminess. It's like a milkshake, but Filipino edition. 🍧 Also, it was a tall cup worth nearly 2 servings!

However, my only slight dislike was some handful of bubble tea pearls having the undercooked, gritty texture on their inner-center. I don't mind since that is a tolerable minor issue.

Service:
I went for a one person dine-in. After going through the menu, I waited for over 10 minutes, while seeing a group of patrons who were after me, already being serviced. Then I put my coat on and was about to leave till a server lady quickly attended me—I finally had my order taken. Moreover, the server staff don't really check up on the patrons, so I'd have to grab their attention if I wanted something. But they were cordial nonetheless, since they did, at least, provide the takeout containers as requested. In conclusion, the service can be frustrating at the start even if it's not too busy—from my own experience.

A few days ago, I dined here, and the pork was burnt, with a considerable portion charred. If you want to get cancer, you can come and eat here.

The best Filipino homestyled restaurant in East Vancouver. This casual small family-style restaurant welcomes everyone, whether you're dining alone or in a larger group. The food is consistently tasty, and you always leave feeling full. I appreciate that they offer single lunch portions for individual guests, while most of the menu features dishes meant to serve 4 to 6 people.

Today, I ordered the pork adobo for $13.99, which came with an egg drop soup (Filipino-Chinese-Canadian style). It was wholesome and delicious!

Pretty good authentic food, bit pricey, and very obviously rushing us out the door well before the closing time.

Our second visit to the restaurant. The first time, we tried the papaitan and inasal chicken, which weren’t really to my taste. I decided to give it another shot and ordered different dishes this time. Unfortunately, I was disappointed again. The calamares turned out to be frozen, which I didn’t expect since it’s made-to-order. If I had known, I could have just prepared it at home.

The bulalo was underwhelming as well—there were so many vegetables that their flavors overpowered the beef soup. There weren’t any condiments like toyomansi, fish sauce or chili to adjust the taste to my liking, and even the table didn’t have any available. We ended up taking our food to go and headed to Pampanga’s Cuisine nearby which is a lot more better.

The only positive experience was the host—she was very kind and welcoming. It’s unfortunate that the food didn’t match her level of service.

Mom & daughter lunch date where we shared the Lumpia Sariwa, Tokwat Babuy, and the Kalabasa Siraw. Had the Buko Pandan for dessert. Very tasty! Ordered more food to take out for Dad.
Disappointed because there was no Ukoy or Bistek, or Rellenong Bangus. But we will certainly be back.

This is the best Filipino restaurant in Vancouver. Try the BBQ squid, BBQ pork skewers, kare kare, crispy pata, leche flan and halo halo! The Grilled Fiesta Platter is always a good idea, and we order it often.

On a recent visit, the table beside us ordered Bulalo. It was massive! I'll give it a try on my next visit.

Pinpin is a family favourite, and it satisfies every time. The food is fresh, delicious, and prompt. Make sure to ask for fresh chili if you're into it.

Reservations are a good idea, but can get lucky and walk in.

Street parking out front is hit or miss, but there are often options at the back.

Parking: If street parking is difficult to find, try one of the paid parking lots at the back.

Binagoongan baboy was excellent and so was our other pork belly dish (Lechon over rice). Very disappointed that rice was not included with binagoongan baboy. It's meant to be eaten with rice, no? Prices seem a bit high on many items. So this might be better for a special occasion.

I was skeptical however this is far the best I've had. I would say this is better than kamayan or barrio fiesta even. Their serving is huge!
