I used to enjoy coming to this bakery, the hotdog buns used to cost 0.75 each and now it's under $2 for 1 same with BBQ pork buns .

Bought a mung bean with double yolk because they ran out of the lotus paste with double yolk. I cut it open and didn't see anything. Thought maybe they didn't use the bright orange yolk and bite into the mung bean hoping maybe salty egg was there. NOPE nothing! Just sweet dry flaky inside. Had to chuck it out. If you buy, you should make them cut one in front of you before you pay! It's been awhile since I bought a traditional moon cake but before you use to be able to cut it without the bottom coming apart.

Ordered online through Uber Eats to pickup in store, showed up to the store well after the time my order was supposed to be ready. Apparently it wasn't enough time for them to even acknowledge they had received the order. Took them a good half an hour to get the order ready after calling Uber to confirm god knows what.Now that'd have been okay, I understand errors can happen and technology can't always be our friend. What caught me totally off guard, was the absolutely condescending tone of the employee. She was treating me as if I was lying about placing my order rather than trying to work out the problem from their end.Read through the reviews, a number of other people have also mentioned the same lady. She's totally incompetent and not fit to work in customer service.
I bought 4 slices of different cakes to a dinner with friends and it was the most bizarre taste I’ve ever had… they tasted like absolutely nothing. No flavour, not even sweet or anything… just the texture difference between the sponge and icing.Not a single person liked their cake slice, including me.I tried just the icing to see if there was a flavour there but it tasted like whipped milk with no sugar or flavour.Also they mixed up the order and gave me 2 different slices than what I asked for and didn’t double check.Overall, very poor product but the cashier was lovely.

Terrible taste in mouth after eating their buns and pastries. In fact, I had to dump all of them after a few bites. Go to Maxim's if you can. Besides the bad quality of food, their staff are unfriendly.

I'm going to lower my rating from 3-stars to 1-star. The reason why is because in the past few visits I noticed a significant drop in quality with their products. This used to be our go-to place for birthday cakes. Their cakes used to be super fresh. Made with whipped cream and and filled with fresh fruits, or fruit cocktail or my favourite, chestnut filling. Now where there used to be an inch thick layer of filling, there is a very thin layer of filling in between two thin cake slabs. They no longer use freshly whipped cream. What they use now is very heavy oily substance. Decoration on top have also declined in volume. Very scant.Their buns follow the same as the cakes. Years ago their buns we packed full of fillings ie BBQ pork, curry beef etc. Now there's maybe a tablespoon of filling in each bun. Very disappointing

They are patient and friendly when I’m practicing my Cantonese in there and they’ve always helped me pack up my purchase in my cloth bag when I’ve got my hands full with a little one. They take debit for purchases over $5 and it’s my go-to place for Birthday Cakes. As of Oct 2022 a 6” fresh mango cake is $43.80
