Carano had some great pizzas, but unfortunately my experience was a bit disappointing and unfortunately I just thought the value for what you get was not there, especially compared to other pizzerias such as Via Tevere.
Service was slow, possibly because they are a touch understaffed. Our order was also dropped (it fell and slipped behind the fridge apparently) so our food took a long time to come. Fortunately, the bartender caught this and told us our food would be arriving and they were on it and gave us some foccacia to make up for it :) They however forgot that we ordered a salad and that never came.
The pizzas were tasty and crunchy, more similar to a Roman pizza than a neopolitan one. We got a Serrano, Carne, and funghi, and they were all delicious. But the pizzas weren't exactly large, and the dough was tough to chew. The pizzas were $32, $32, and $24 respectively, which is pricey. Full stop.
The food is great, dont get me wrong. The vibe is great. The staff are friendly and very nice. But between the slow service, our order being dropped, the chewy dough, the expensive prices and the moderate portions, I don't think I'm in a rush to come back.

I absolutely was WOWED by the food . We loved the Hawaiian pizza and the vodka rigatoni pasta . The pizza was made perfectly... the crust , sauce ( and a good amount of it too ) and toppings were all delicious. The vodka sauce on the rigatoni was to die for . The service was very good too. Our server was very attentive and also made good suggestions on the menu . I'll be back very soon.

A very friendly /social restaurant—with prompt efficient service. (Personally) NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PIZZA TAKEOUT. Yes, pizza crust is excellent —but toppings really seemed very sparse on cheese….ours artichoke & spinach @ $24+ After I paid, walking away with the pizza in box —-seemed totally feather-light. Usually I’m used to having a half pizza leftover. Last night {7:00 pm, Sat, Oct 25th 2025} no one at home was hungry—& I easily ate it all. Carano does appear to be a big popular hit as a social dine-in experience. IMHO Carano owners could gather Inspiration for pizza upgrade with a visit / order from Steveston Pizza (Richmond)

Really nice vibe, service was great and I thought the pizzas were really well done. The carne was easily my favourite.

Their pizza is addictive! Its crust is thin but has crispy and chewy edge. The dough itself has nice flavour with good amount of saltiness and oiliness. Simple but well executed. Pasta and drinks are good as well. Oh, and great happy hour deals!

Incredible staff. Kevin is an absolute G. The pizzailo is very skilled and they easily have the best Happy Hour I've seen. We flew in from Edmonton, and headed straight there form the airport. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Vancouver.

Pizza Carano is amazing! Wish I had come here sooner. We had the cacio e pepe, which was absolutely delicious. Meatballs were soft, flavorful, and herbaceous - a standout. The Caprese salad was incredible, especially knowing the tomatoes were freshly picked from their garden. The cocktails were top-shelf, truly A-list level. The service was personable and exceptional, with Kevin providing attentive and caring service throughout. Highly recommend!
