My favorite coffee place. Food is ok, but coffee is delicious. Location itself is … sketchy, but what can you do?

Prado Cafe is a great stop for good coffee in a stylish, modern setting. The space feels clean and thoughtfully designed, and the coffee is consistently well made and balanced. A solid Vancouver go-to.

I had a completely negative experience here today. I ordered a latte with light foam and a half-sweet mocha. Both drinks were made incorrectly.

When I politely mentioned that my latte was supposed to have light foam (as clearly stated on my receipt), the blonde-haired barista making the drinks was extremely rude and disrespectful. Instead of apologizing or remaking it properly, she took a spoon, scooped the foam off the top of the cup with visible attitude, and said, “Here you go.” It was uncomfortable and unprofessional.

My mocha was also not made half sweet as ordered. When I brought that to her attention, I was met with more attitude, no apology, and hesitation to fix it. As a customer who just paid over $14 for two drinks — plus a $4 tip, totaling $18 — I expect basic courtesy and drinks made correctly.

I left feeling embarrassed and disappointed. There’s no shortage of coffee shops in this neighborhood, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

They do 'traditional' coffee here which means everything is served at half a cup. YMMV

I go there early in the morning for one-on-one meetings and it is nice and quite. Ham breakfast sandwich is also good.

The best espresso and coffee. Very kind staff and feels like a small mom and pop which to me is worth so much these days. Love these guys.

My favourite coffee in gastown!
However I recently moved away in the summer and made the point to walk here and get a coffee and the person told me they were out of drip coffee, and offered an americano instead. I was happy to wait for a fresh pot because I love the coffee however that wasn’t a possibility to them so I accepted the americano and paid 6.16 for the americano which was a few dollars more than the product I initially wanted
:( unfortunate

I loved the atmosphere in the cafe. The decor was warm and inviting. I ordered, as I usually do, a cappuccino steamed warm. Though the coffee itself was slightly bitter, the milk was steamed to my liking. It had a wonderful texture. I would certainly return.

Coffee and pastries were very tasty, and the staff were nice! Clean and spacious inside, and pretty quiet for a weekday morning.

My one complaint is the $1.25 plant based milk charge which is insane

Went at 8am and it wasn't busy at all. It's a clean, quiet cafe with lots of seating. The chocolate croissant I had was decent - not amazing but definitely above average. For the size, it's a little expensive. I had a bite of my friend's pizza bread and it's exactly what you'd expect.
