This restaurant is a great spot for seafood lovers. The oysters are exquisite, but what really stands out is the service. Sitting at the bar is always a pleasure, with friendly staff taking care of you. I absolutely love that. I highly recommend this place, 100%. Oh, and the drinks — simple but very good, and the wine selection is excellent too.

We had a reservation, and when arrived were offered a seat at the bar or a very uncomfortable 2-top high table where - well, it was so hot! Ordered oysters, and our mistake (?) our dinner, both came out at the SAME TIME. Boo. Was the fish overcooked when it came out of the kitchen, or when it sat resting for 10 minutes while we tried to enjoy the not-great oysters? Hard to say, in the end I guess it doesn’t matter.

Rodney's Oyster House is a mix of bar and open kitchen. I tried their West Coast and East Coast oyster, which was fresh and tasted like the ocean.
I ordered Pacific coastline lingcod, also called buffalo cod, for the main course. It was pan-seared and served with vegetables, butternut squash puree, and a blackberry. The fish skin was crispy and perfectly cooked. Combining the puree and blackberries elevated the whole dish.
The bartender is also very talkative and friendly.
It is so sad that the last order is before 10 pm.

A must do when in Vancouver. This was our 2nd visit, returning from 2023. The experience was as good as our memory of the last visit. Staff were very professional, answering all our questions and making us feel very welcome. The theatre of shucking the oysters right in front of you is amazing. The oysters were fresh, plump and tasty. A great way to spend time eating lunch or dinner in Vancouver. Highly recommend.

I came in expecting fireworks; instead, I got a sparkler in the rain. After five-plus minutes of waiting, the bartender finally strolled over to explain the place was “casual”— casual atmosphere with casual service apparently code for “don’t expect much service.”
The oysters? Outstanding. Fresh, briny, and worth savoring—though at $4.25 each, they’d better be. Virgin Caesar Came extra spicy with a side of horseradish, Sadly, the seafood fettuccine didn’t live up to its $44.50 price tag. The tomato sauce was as flat as last week’s soda, leaving the dish firmly in “meh” territory.
The Creole blackened salmon on a baby kale Caesar packed great flavor and a nicer kick, but the portion was so small I half-expected it to be an appetizer. Delicious? Yes. Satisfying? Not quite.
Overall, not worth a return—$140 should come with great service, not the privilege of feeling like an inconvenience.

Decent oyster place but is always super hot in the summer because they dont seem to have air conditioning. for an expensive seafood restaurant that has been around for so long doesnt make sense why they havnt installed a working AC yet
