READ THIS.Me and my friends wanted to have dinner in a good restaurant but the quality of the food was very low, they said they didn't have some food on the menu and made us choice the most expensive food in there because it was "what was left" (at 20.30). We were already not satisfied but the experience got crazy, we found ourselves locked in the place by the owners while eating without any reason and with no chances to get out. They even threatened us to call the police because they were scared of getting scammed by us, group of exchange students trying to enjoy a night in Vancouver. We were ALL under-age, is this legal? Probably WE should have called the police for what was happening. Don't ever come here to eat. I described the pure truth and hope this will never happen again to a customer.

I had an horrible experience. Me and 20 friends of mine were all locked in for the whole dinner, and even after I paid. They let me go 15 minutes after I paid arriving late at home. The food was bad and I already have stomachache.

My friend and I were bi-monthly regulars here at Ryuu, prior to the Covid lockdown. Yesterday we went back after 2 years, and my goodness, were there changes! The service was slow, and both Bento Boxes we ordered for lunch, did not arrive to the table together. My friend had to wait about .15 min for his to arrive, while my box was almost finished. That's really bad. All entrée items should always be served together, and not staggered. There were only 15 or so patrons here for lunch, so no excuses.Shrink-Flation has hit hard here at Ryuu! We noticed the portions in the Bento Boxes are significantly smaller, and prices have gone up over $3.00 since January 2020. The quality and taste were both good. Be prepared to wait if you lunch here.

The sushi was good, small but good, and the servers were super nice. Fast and good prices for downtown

Customer service was 5 stars but in terms of food unfortunately it's okay in terms of appetizers. Meanwhile I only tried appetizers. So I can't say for the whole menu. The atmosphere was also 5 stars. Also hope they change the soya sauce. Doesn't taste like the ones from sushi places. So it was a bit disappointing. Hopefully they change the soya sauce soon. Otherwise the servers are very nice.

affordable but tasty sushi.

No complaints. If you're nearby and looking for sushi/ Izakaya style appetizers, this is a simple satisfying option. Prices reflect downtown, but nothing that will break the bank.

We went here for my husband's 50th bday and it was fantastic! The food tasted extremely fresh and was not coated in sugary sauces, also the waitress and chef were terrific! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Was out shopping on a sunny Friday afternoon and stopped in for some sushi. Forgot to take pix so only have one. Food looked good in presentation and tasted good enough. It wasn't great but not bad. I would give this place a low rating for service, and atmosphere and lack of flexibility as I just wanted to substitute my rice with lettuce in my poke bowl and they refused. Food was good but not great. I would not come back the next time I'm shopping as it didn't fit with our nice day out shopping and was probably the low side of our afternoon. I would definitely pick a different restaurant next time. However if you are craving sushi while shopping here at McArther Glen then I guess this will have to be the spot.

The reception ask for vaccination card which is fine but I told her I gonna step aside so the group of people can go in but she hold me and said we need to see your card first. I keep searching for my card till I found it but I noticed she only check 1 person on the group of about 6 or 8 white people. I ask her why she did not check the rest and she just move on...so bad customer service, will not go there ever.

We had such an awesome experience we had to go twice. We thought the portions were perfect. And we had the most wonderful waitress. I highly recommend this place if you want amazing Japanese food.

This was my second time at this location, we went to Ryuu for the happy hour apps, but unfortunately, they no longer have happy hour. Regardless we ordered the spring roll and the pan-fried dumplings. Both items ordered were good, the service was good. Convenient location, disappointed they no longer have happy hour.
