So happy there’s a Persian restaurant at UBC! Friendly staff, fast service, and good portions. Soltani kebab is tasty, loghmeh kebab is good, and the lamb shank is delicious with generous portions. The saffron pudding is fresh and great. Highly recommend Sahel!

Prices are not transparent. At first they told me $9.99 for chelo kebab, but when I asked for two skewers (which is standard in most restaurants), they changed the price to $19.99! That means almost $10 extra for just one more skewer. This feels more like tricking customers than honest service. You can find the same food for much less elsewhere. I do not recommend this place.

A great deal on campus! My falafel plate (~$11) was very tasty and very filling. Falafel came out crisp. Ask for a little extra sauce for all that pita and rice!

Fereshte always goes above and beyond every time I visit Sahel. She remembers what I like, always makes sure there's tahdig on my plate, and somehow puts together the best-looking dishes every time. Her kindness and attention to detail make the whole experience feel special.

The Honest guy.

Best food place in ubc. Their food is the experience, and their food is very great. Prices are the same as going in the fast food restaurant. If you need healthy food, hit up the place.

I visited here a month ago after an appointment. I scanned some of cheap eateries nearby and found this place out of blue.

They have $9.99 specials everyday so it was a decent deal. It’s hard to find this price tag nowadays since everything is expensive. I had a chicken donair plate it was perfect for one serving. Chicken and rice were pretty good. Rice was fluffy and fresh. I’d go back here if I’m ever around this neighborhood.

They get busy during lunch time full of students so watch out. Highly recommend Sahel for inexpensive delicious lunch!

Shout out to Hasti — you’re truly the best!

I really enjoy the Sahel food spot at UBC. It offers a comfortable place to sit and eat, along with clean washrooms, which is a great plus. The food is consistently good — occasionally the meat can be a bit dry for chicken (shredded chicken), but considering the generous portion sizes, flavour and fair pricing, it’s definitely worth it.

One of my favourite dishes is the Chicken and Rice — only $10.50, and Baklava Sweet honestly, worth every penny. I’d rate it 8/10. Despite having other options on my way from the Bookstore, I often find myself coming back here.

Special thanks to Hasti, who was incredibly kind and patient with my indecisiveness — truly appreciated!

Love the food here. We always get the kebabs and they are made fresh, a bit of a wait but really worth it. The service is really friendly especially with Hasti.
