We found this place on social media and decided to give it a try today. Tucked away between Sai Woo and Newtown Bakery (both, which are pretty good) is Say Hey Cafe in Vancouver - Chinatown.

The employee at the front was very friendly and welcoming. We tried out the Dip Dip turkey sandwich and the Granny Roast beef sandwich since they were out of the meatball hoagie.

I must say that the sandwiches were really good. The kimchi paired well with the provolone and turkey and with the nice dipping au juis sauce made of brown butter. The roast beef sandwich “The Granny” was also really flavourful and tasted fresh and great!

I will definitely give this place another try and hopefully come back to try out the meatball hoagie. I am really happy and pleased with the service and food we received.

Sorry. Really hoped this would be better. But 20 bucks is simply too much for a mediocre sandwich. I had the Doofus!? Doofer?

Love this place. Stoked they’re open Saturday’s now so I can go a lil more often. Neeeeed to try the breakfast sandwiches.

Visited a few times and loved every bite. Great establishment and subs.

Ordered a takeout vegetarian meatball salad, and it was one of the best vegetarian meatballs I've had. Will definitely be back.

Went here and tried the meatball hoagie and it was really good. A tad bit messy but that just makes the sandwich better.

What looks like an average run-of-the-mill sandwich shop actually hold something a little different. The sandwiches are quite a sight to behold: soft sesame seeded roll, and covered with a mound of shredded lettuce, crushed chips, and parmesan cheese. So much so, that you'll have a challenge to get your mouth around it. I had The Doofer, which is spicy turkey with bacon. But don't let that scare you off. It's not hot, actually more of a warm spice level. The only thing I can really fault it for is the salt level. Everything together (bacon, chips, and parm) make for a bit of a salt bomb.

There are two sizes, but in actual fact, the roll size is plenty big.

Excellent sandwich. A must stop if you're looking for a deli experience in the city. Service was quick and kind. Bread was fresh, flavours were popping. Can't wait to come back.
