Amazing food. Amazing service. Everything was phenomenal. I was telling my friend that I hope they do well and stay around for many years to come. Then I was heart-broken at the end of our dinner to find out that they were closing down in two days! It just seems wrong. I hope they can find a way to open up somewhere else. We need more restaurants that are as good as Seiza. Thank you to the staff for providing us with such an excellent evening. You provided excellence even when you didn't have to. I wish you good luck and hope we will see you again somewhere soon.

We came in to support this restaurant as we heard it was closing. Food was good. My entree was completely forgotten and I waited a full 35 minutes after my husband received his ramen before getting my pancake. I called to the waitress after 20 minutes. She said it would be 5 minutes. It was not. No apology. No update . No offer to take some cost off the bill or at least offer a complimentary appe as I watched my husband eat. He stopped twice to wait for me- no food came. We are ardent local foodies and support as best we can. We cannot recommend this place- but don't have to as it is closing anyway.

The cleanness and environment is good. Food prices are little higher but quality is above the average. Aburi and Oshizushi sushi is highly recommended, better than Miku, from my experience.

Thoroughly disappointed. Dinner, Saturday night, 2 people, dine in.Service was minimal with little care, though they did check in during the meal.Ordered a few things but roll quality was pretty low. Ebi tempura inside my roll was stale (both my partner and I tasted it and agreed)Oshi sushi was overly packed, they could probably do with a third less rice and packed with less pressure. It was also quite uninventive in a sense that it was layers of rice/salmon/sauce. The typically good Oshi sushi will have a bit more work out into it and the layers aren't so individual.Weirdly enough my glass was also fogged or had a weird sheen to it.Lastly corners in the restaurant were quite dusty and had pigeon feathers and leaves. I assume cleaning isn't top of mind for this group. For the sub par quality the prices are criminally high.

Hip, modern sushi place to dine at for all occasions. Surprisingly large menu, but all dishes are good. Better to have reservation.

Everything was fantastic. My one complaint is the women's bathroom was dirty and it was obvious that they were never really clean as the corners and such we're REALLY dirty.

We had reservations for 8:15pm and were seated right away. There was much to choose from the menu. It really was a book! We ordered a variety of sashimi, chef's choice of aburi nigiri sushi, seafood okonomiyaki (w/ lots of seafood and filling). Our kids loved the tempura Udon. Fast and quality service! Would definitely recommend this place for Japanese food! Thank you!

Wey Cool

Came here on June 29, 2023. This is my third time here. Their Aburi (pressed) sushi is very good. We love the scallop one !Shoyu and Miso ramen are only $13.8. Lol. It’s not the best but it’s decent enough. They seem to have a lot of fancy sushi stuff. I saw someone ordering a Lobster sashimi which looks very cool.I feel this is like a hidden gem. Check it out.

Servers can explain any dish we do not know. Service is fast but not rushed. We were able to sit comfortably and eat without interruption, around 9 pm. Great atmosphere, low light setting. We got the hamachi carpaccio, salmon carpaccio, cheese katsu, miso eggplant, and beef sushi that I don't recall the spelling of. All were amazing, I wish I could eat miso eggplant like this at home! Would love to be back next time we are in Vancouver.

My new favourite sushi place, hands down! Came across it by chance, looking for something between my place and the airport. I'm vegan, lots of options and I like the setting. Generous servings, comfortable seating and lovely service

Nice selection of food shown in a beautiful menu. They taste as good as they look too. The seafood cabbage cake (okonomiyaki) was one of our favorites, and the salmon tempura was a good unique appetizer. Everything was flavorful but light, a very nice balance. The decor and ambience was modern casual, good for both families and hipsters alike. In fact, we saw several families with young kids devouring plates of sushi rolls happily :)Kid-friendliness: Families are welcome!

Everything was so fresh! The chef roll tasted so good and unique, I would highly recommend if you like sashimi to try this roll with many fish inside. It's a bit pricey, but the quality is very good here! The "Zombie Brain" (fried avacado with spicy tuna and crab salad was also good)

I've been to numerous sushi restaurants in Vancouver and I can assure you this is in my top 3. An explosion of flavours, with a huge menu, great service and cute space. The monkey brain and sushi cake were different from anything I've ever tried couldn't be better.

Food is okay but nothing exceptional. My experience was ruined by the filthy bathrooms and even the restaurant floor is dirty. My shoes actually stuck to the bathroom floor, there's waste paper on the floor and baseboards, sinks etc were in bad need of cleaning. It's really offputting. The lighting in restaurant is very low so makes one wonder if other areas were just as dirty.

Made it to Canada for our 30th anniversary. This was the third dinner in as many nights and we wanted to take it down a notch and relax with a good dinner. The decor was nice. The restaurant was pretty quiet which was nice. We made reservations and our table (a booth), was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. The menu is large so we really wanted to try something different. The lobster roll is a must! One of the best sushi rolls we have ever had. Definitely top 3 on the list. We ordered a few more dishes that we were familiar with and they were also delicious. I'd probably give a 5 to the staff but one young lady might have been new because she wasn't mean but she wasn't friendly either. Kind of matter of fact and moved on. She also forgot to bring my ginger ale I ordered but that was brought by another waiter after I asked for it again. No biggie overall since the rest of the staff was friendly and attentive. So, would be go back? Most definitely! It was a good dinner after a long day of exploring Victoria Island. Would we recommend it? Yes. We made reservations but really didn't need to since it was a Sunday, but I can see other evenings being packed with people so you might want to make reservations just a precaution.
