I love their food! Even though I live on the other side of town, I’m always happy to make the drive because I know I’ll enjoy a great meal.

Parking: Around 15 spots on the hotel parking lot beside the restaurant

My wife and I ordered bulk takeout, spent almost 300 dollars. 4 dumplings for 11 dollars is ridiculous. The amount in the picture is all we received, and the food was bland and did not taste fresh.

You know it’s an authentic chinese restaurant when it smells like one. 😂

I came here with my family to meet an old friend in Vancouver, and this place was recommended by the locals. Personally, I don’t understand why this place has such low reviews. Prices may be a little steep, but I guarantee you if you’re finding authentic chinese flavours and taste, drop by.

We ordered Lobsters, Roasted Chicken, Crispy Peking Duck with Wrap, Cod Fish, Stir Fry Vege with Beef, Stir Fry Kailan, Silverfish Fried Rice and some soup (can’t remember). All these dishes come part as a set, and we all had a great time at Shanghai Lu. The waiters here are also super friendly and thoughtful, I would definitely drop by this place the next time when I’m in Vancouver.

There is also free parking located at the hotel directly beside the entrance of this restaurant. Take the ramp up after the drop-off point at the hotel lobby, and proceed all the way up until you see the lots allocated for Shanghai Lu customers. Just let the waiters know you parked your car there.

Ordered takeout, 6 dim sum dishes and the total was close to $100! The dim sum was nothing special. The restaurant wasn't busy when I went to pick up my order... probably because their prices are really high! Won't be going there again for average dim sum!

We wanted to have a family dinner for 30 that was good value and great food. A friend recommended Shanghai Lu and we certainly amazed at the food quality and the price! The King Crab was perfectly cooked and so tasty. The dishes were a good size so we all had to take leftovers home to enjoy the next day. Winnie, the owner was very easy to deal with and you can tell that customer service & satisfaction were her top priority. Give yourself a treat and go spoil yourself with great dim sum as well as dinner!

Parking: Shanghai Lu has 10 parking spots on the P4 level and after 5pm, all the spots that are unmarked are also free.

Kid-friendliness: We had 6 children in our group of 30 - Winnie set up a small table where they could do activities while the adults took their time and enjoyed the sumptuous dinner.

I have been coming here for years! Used to eat with them when they were in Burnaby near 6th and 6th! Definitely still worth the drive all the way out into Vancouver! Food was hot fresh and great sized portions, the dim sum is to die for! Service is friendly and fast. Thanks again for another amazing meal!

I like when I am in Vancouver to eat Cantonese dim sum for lunch, parking is on the top of the Holiday Inn and you have to register your plate inside the restaurant, complimentary. They serve a delicious dim sum for lunch and the menu has photos showing each dish. Recommend!

I recently visited Shanghai Lu Restaurant while I was visiting Vancouver, with high hopes of enjoying the delicious Chinese food I usually love. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and disheartening. Upon arrival, hungry and eager to eat, I was met with refusal of service by the woman in charge. She provided no explanation and simply told me that they were not serving. The restaurant was full of people and there were still vacant tables available, making her refusal even more perplexing. I couldn't help but feel that I was being discriminated against, as I was the only Black person in the restaurant. This experience was a harsh reminder that racism still exists, even in Canada. It's disheartening to encounter such treatment in this day and age. I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue to ensure that all customers are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
