Shared their chicken platter between 3 people and had some leftovers. Overall food was great, chicken was crispy and juicy, their spicy sauce was my favorite! The cheese powder one was a little too much for me, I wish they had gone lighter on the seasoning. Hopefully will go back soon to try their other dishes as everything looked really tasty!

This was one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. We came for lunch and ended up waiting over an hour for our food to arrive. The servers were unapologetic and did not even bother to let us know what was going on. When I rang the service bell for some tea, there was no response for almost 10mins, so I rang it again and the server promptly came by and said “you only need to ring it once!”. Well clearly not because you never came by the first time. When the food finally came out it was cold!! The broth, the meat, the rice..everything. As if it was just sitting out on the counter for an hour. The tofu in my soup came as a whole block, not bothering to even cut it. At least they were being generous with the tofu I guess…The japchae noodles were all congealed and stuck together like a block.
This didn’t seem like a particularly busy day but the service and the food were both horrendous. If you’re going to make us wait over an hour for food, at least make it hot. We still had to pay $150 for the worst Korean food I’ve had in Vancouver so far.

Shilla is a fantastic choice for Korean food in East Van. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the presentation on the sizzling stone plates keeps everything piping hot.
What we loved:
The Octopus/Squid Stir-fry: Perfectly spicy and tender, served with plenty of fresh vegetables and sesame seeds.
Fried Chicken & Fries: Super crispy batter and juicy on the inside—exactly what you want from Korean-style fried chicken.
Generous Sides: The banchan (side dishes), especially the bean sprouts, were fresh and paired perfectly with the heavier main courses.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it a great spot for a late-night meal or a hearty dinner with friends.

The guy there was extremely rude to us. Since we were coming from school, we all had backpacks, and he asked us to sit at a table for four with only four chairs. We politely asked if we could move to a slightly larger table so we would have more space and could move freely, but he argued with us and insisted that we were not allowed to change tables. This situation was very frustrating and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. On top of that, we were served old rice that had a distinct smell and seemed close to being spoiled.

After driving by this Korean restaurant for years, finally dropped by for a visit in early Jan 2026. They have weekday lunch specials that looked pretty good but we just went with some ala carte items.
The Seafood Pancake $25.98 was large and quite thick with big chunks of seafood. It was only slightly crispy (probably due to his thick it was).
The Spicy Pork Belly Mini Octopus $24.98 had good flavour but the mini octopus needed to be cut into smaller bite-sized pieces.
The Spicy Seafood Tofu Soup $16.98 had nice soft tofu.
The interior was kinda cold so good idea to wear layers.

Me and my wife had late lunch here. Service was good and the food was worth the price. Portions were massive and taste good. We were not able to finish our food as there was just a lot. Will definitely come back here with more help.

Without a doubt one of my favorite restaurants. The service is always so good. The portions are massive and the quality of food you get for what you pay, so worth it! Will continue to be a patron here. Highly recommend!

Very professional server meeting clients' need. She gave us side dish that could go well with Soju while waiting for the main dish cooked. Very considerate and heart- felt serving. Bulgogi was served in the skillet. Very very delicious!

Had the BBQ platter which was a great value. Came with two types of grilled chicken, grilled shortrib and sous vide pork belly plus sides. Both chicken were really good. The pork belly was a bit dry and the short rib was okay. Lots of food though.

Large delicious portions at a very affordable price. Chicken is moist and flavorful. Seafood pancake was pretty thick and full of toppings. Service was prompt. Great place to eat and drinks with a group of people
