Good Japanese food, great people working there. Unfortunately, they concentrate more on take out items but they still have a few tables for you to enjoy dine in. One of my favorite places.

The fish was very fresh and the sushi rice had just the right flavor but was a little too soft.I would strongly recommend udon. The soup base is not outstanding but the udon noodles are very chewy and worth a try.Tempura is averageFinally, you can leave some space to try the homemade ice cream, which tastes good.

AMAZING FOOD…so fresh, so tasty, well proportioned, and impeccable service. We wanted a dish with tuna sashimi in a special sauce that was not on the menu, and they were able to prepare it, just the way it was. You will not be disappointed.

Terrible service. Don’t usually leave review but the waitress had an attitude. Don’t get the udon. Decent tempura.

A cozy and pleasant Japanese spot on Cambie! Fresh sashimi and sushi, abundant choices on the menu!Note the restaurant is rather small and reaches capacity quite easily!

Very busy place. Only open for a few hours in the evenings. I've been going here for years and still forget to take pictures as the food is delicious. 100% recommend, and they also do take out on different platforms.

I like trying out their daily specials like the ebi mayo, BBQ squid, blue fin tuna, garlic butter clams and yuzu dessert. The service is good but the restaurant is small so make reservations ahead of time. The dishes are reasonably priced too and I’ve been there several times and will go backVegetarian options: You can tell the chef to make the items vegetarian and they have some vegetarian dishes too

I don’t have to say anything against the food, just that they give you small portions but I’m not coming back here again. Ordered from Uber and it caused us stomach issues just not to give much details. We heard good things about this place but after getting sick I start to doubt about their cleanliness and food safety in regards to raw fish.

Between 2006-2011 we lived around the corner and this was one of our favourite sushi places. We have gone back over the years and been rather content. Sad to say that our meal today was underwhelming and probably will go elsewhere in the future. The service was decent and attentive, the food quality is fine but the presentation, attention to details was lackluster.Tea now served with tea bags, no water unless asked, plastic cutlery. No big greeting or thank you at the end as was always before. The kids were disappointed that Pocky sticks are no longer presented with the bill :(End of an era I guess….

Some of the best sushi in Vancouver. Tiny spot and worth the wait. I wouldn’t bring my kid here, it more of a date night dine in. Or take out with the kid. Loved the Yakisoba, which I don’t usually order. Salmon sashimi, Negitoro roll, and fried roll (dynamite) were all delicious.

Tucked away in a strip mall, it feels like regulars of this hidden gem do not want you to know about Shiro. And I don’t blame them: cheap draught beer, fresh local seafood, friendly service. They offer more authentic items than most Vancouver sushi spots, like uni and shima aji.Kid-friendliness: Casual and unstuffy vibe
