The decoration is 5 stars the food is ok they have afew options not much.i was there for iftra with my family once the food finished then its done and you have to wait for at least 30 mins till the refill it . We didn’t get chance to try the dessert because there is a small portion like 10 small serving of fermi once it finished they didn’t replace so you have to be careful with dessert. Unless if you want to pay extra for bakery and buy to eat with your tea . Also it was Ramadan every thing is limited ,tea, manto, rice over all for afghans buffet is not bad . It’s was much better if they cook enough and have afew servers

While the food quality was ok, the biggest issue was that the Iftar buffet was not being refilled. Several items finished quickly and stayed empty for a long time, which took away from the overall experience.

recently had the pleasure of visiting Silk Lounge Afghani Restaurant and it was an unforgettable experience! The buffet was exceptional, featuring delicious Kabuli Pulao, Biryani, and the must-try Mantu. The service was top-notch, with the staff ensuring we felt completely at ease. The interior beautifully reflects Afghan and Indian culture, adding a unique charm to the dining experience. Overall, it was a fantastic dining adventure!

I ordered a Shahi Paneer pizza for $16.99, and honestly, it was very disappointing for that price. The pizza was overcooked from the back side, and the crust was way too thin, even though I didn’t order a thin crust. The cheese was almost missing, and there was hardly any red sauce, which was dried out and didn’t even cover the crust properly. There were just a few onions and green peppers, and overall the pizza was so hard and chewy that it was almost not eatable.

I really expected something fresh and flavorful, not something that felt overcooked and carelessly made. Really hope the restaurant pays more attention to quality next time.

I ordered off the too good to go app so I don’t truly know what I got I think it was a chickpea curry and a coconut chicken curry with 2 containers of rice

I grew up in Surrey and have had a lot of Indian food over the years. Even though it was cold as the app is to prevent food waste; it was the best tasting Indian curries I’ve ever had. Even the rice was good cold and I’ve never enjoyed cold rice before. It ghee or some sort of light oil in it that didn’t flavour the rice, it was enhances the natural flavours of the long grain basmati. The chickpea curry and one container of rice didn’t even last long enough to get reheated it was that good.

What a cool place! We went for late lunch and had the whole lounge to ourselves. Loved the decor, and food was fresh and tasty.

I hosted a private event here on August 1st and paid a $5,000 deposit toward the booking. During the event, guests were charged individually for their drinks, and the remaining balance from the deposit was supposed to be refunded.

Since the event, I’ve reached out countless times by email and text and have not received a single response. It has now been over a month with no communication and no refund.

At this point, it feels impossible to reach anyone from management, and I’m deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism. If you’re considering hosting a private event here, be extremely cautious. Getting your deposit back is seemingly impossible.

Would not recommend.

Silk is truly a hidden gem in Gastown! From the moment you walk in, the elegant décor and unique ambiance set it apart from any typical Indian restaurant. Every detail — from the lighting to the music — creates a cozy yet upscale dining experience.

The food here is absolutely outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality and attention to detail in every dish. Each item feels thoughtfully crafted with authentic flavors and premium ingredients, not the usual cookie-cutter Indian fare you find elsewhere.

The service is equally impressive — attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Garry, the owner, is incredibly friendly and makes you feel right at home.

If you’re looking for high-quality, delicious Indian cuisine served in a beautiful and inviting setting, Silk is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Review for “Tiffinbox by Silk”

If you’re considering ordering from Tiffinbox by Silk, let me save you from a mistake you’ll regret. I signed up for their so-called “2-day trial plan” to test out the quality of their meals, and after today’s experience, I wouldn’t touch their food again even if it was the last tiffin on Earth.

The delivery arrived in the morning, stone cold packaging — not even remotely resembling freshly prepared food. I assumed perhaps it’s meant to be refrigerated and reheated later, so I put it away for dinner. Big mistake.

When I finally microwaved the meal and sat down to eat, I was served 5 limp chapatis, a sad excuse for dal makhani (or whatever tragic rendition they were going for), a gatte ki sabji, some rice, and a side of cabbage-carrot posing as salad.

The very first bite told me everything I needed to know: the dal was spoilt. Not stale — spoilt. The kind of off-putting, sour, gag-inducing taste that no amount of microwave heat could hide. Thinking maybe it was just the dal, I tried the gatte ki sabji. Same story: spoiled beyond redemption. Every box carried the same nauseating stench of food that had long given up on life.

I ended up throwing away the entire meal. Imagine paying for food only to dump it straight into the bin. That’s Tiffinbox by Silk for you.

This is not just bad cooking — this is a complete disregard for hygiene, freshness, and customer trust. If this is the quality they serve on a trial plan (which is supposed to impress you), I shudder to think what paying customers receive.

Save yourself the disappointment and the risk to your stomach. Don’t even bother with their “1-day trial.” The only thing you’ll taste is regret.

⭐ 0/5 — because negative stars aren’t an option.

I ordered food from this restaurant via Uber Eats today, and it was really bad. The naan and veg thali were extremely stale, and the roti was so hard that it was impossible to eat. It felt like the food was prepared a long time ago. I think food safety officials should check this place and see how stale their bread is. It’s disappointing because I was really hungry, but the food was just not edible. I hope they take customer feedback seriously and improve their food quality. I won’t be ordering from here again. Also, you can see the picture for reference, I never saw these naans in review, I would really appreciate if you guyz upload real food reviews.
