I visited this restaurant recently and had a great experience. The food was delicious and well presented. The service was friendly and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for our order. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal. Prices were reasonable for the quality. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would be happy to come back again.
Went for a late lunch- we had the Chai Feast. Food was delicious, with lots of options. Service was excellent. Street parking was $2 per hour. Will definitely go back for a dinner.
Service was not good at all. It took time for them to refill our orders. The waitress kept giving us wrong food. We made a reservation and yet they gave us a crappie table. The food was mediocre.
We've always had a great meal here. The food is exceptional and so is the service! Highly recommend for an excellent meal.
Good service and excellent food. The decor and ambiance at this location is excellent. I would have given a five star rating, but we had to wait to be seated 25 minutes later than our OpenTable reservation. They explained that they had mistakenly seated another group in our reserved table. (They compensated us for this mistake by giving us free dessert.) The other issue is that the prices for a-la-carte dishes are not listed on the menu. Each dish was in the $30 range and didn't include flatbread or rice. Each piece of boulani flatbread was a hefty $7.50. That being said, the meal was delicious and entirely satisfying. The servers were very pleasant and apologized profusely for their mistake with our reservation.
We tried many dishes and all of them were delirious! Wide enough space between the each table, very professional servers. Everything was very nice.
We had the Silk Road feast and it was delicious as always. Lots of variety and everything was yummy. Live music and ambiance always make the experience a little extra special as well.
I spent my birthday there with my friend and they gave us a dessert and two drinks on the house, super lovely service and food, would definitely go again!
Great experience, as always! I have been to East is East many times and have always been happy.
Great food, amazing service, beautiful live music and nice atmosphere. A new favourite for us

There was a mix up with our reservation however the restaurant went above any beyond to resolve the situation in the end.
Really nice experience, food was delicious and the ambience was really nice.. but I made a reservation for my wife's birthday and we got to see someone else celebrate their birthday in the restaurant and got a dessert, but unfortunately not for my wife and that was a let down.
We wandered past just after 11pm and were drawn in like a moth to a flame. They had just closed their doors for the evening but this beautiful woman came from behind the bar, unlocked the door and offered us a chai to go. A perfect hot treat to carry as we wandered the streets of Vancouver in the midnight rain! 🥰

Excellent service and very good food. Also, the selection is broad and works well for vegetarians. The seating is comfortable and the live music definitely adds to the ambiance. The only (minor) negative is that the menu has not changed much over the years.
The noise level is high due to the musician. The food was spicy and nothing was available in non-spicy. Some of the dishes were good and some not.
