Unobtrusively perfect. If you are in Gastown do not miss this spot. It is unmistakable about how much they care about their food and their guests. The prices are easy on the pocket, but the portions are massive. Do not sleep on Skewers. Delish!

The lamb and chicken skewers were cooked perfectly. The marinade brought out the natural flavor of the meats and both salads were so refreshing and hearty that it was hard to stop eating when we were full! The homemade flan was creamy and not too sweet (like so many we've had at other restaurants). Nothing here is an afterthought which you don't expect in such a cozy, unassuming place. Our server was friendly, attentive and efficient as well as very easy to talk to. We would definitely go out of our way to eat here again!

Update (May 2025): I used to love going to this place, it was my favorite spot, but since the Greek manager left, it is not a Greek restaurant anymore. You can tell the quality has dropped significantly. The pork and tzatziki are not the same. They also have a ventilation problem.
(Summer 2024) Most authentic Greek grill in BC. Tzatziki is handmade and souvlaki is served like in Greece.

Review Update for Skewers Souvlaki Bar
Our initial experience at Skewers Souvlaki Bar was highly disappointing. My husband and I had looked forward to a nice dinner, but it ended up ruining our evening. The restaurant was almost empty, with just one other couple dining and no one else waiting on food. We ordered our meals promptly, expecting a quick turnaround given the circumstances.
However, we waited for over an hour, and no one from the restaurant approached us during that time. We noticed that another couple, who arrived much later, received the same dishes we had ordered, yet they were served well before us. When we politely raised the issue with a staff member, he offered a simple “sorry” and walked away without addressing the delay or offering a solution. Frustrated and hungry, we eventually left without eating. By then, it was too late to go anywhere else, so we went home disappointed and without dinner.
After posting our first review, the owner responded publicly, asking us to email him so he could “make it right.” We did email, as requested, but received no response. It’s disheartening to see an attempt at customer care in public, only to be ignored in private. This entire experience has shown a lack of genuine concern for customers. We won’t be returning, and we encourage others to consider our experience before dining here.
Finally had the chance to try this highly rated Greek restaurant and it’s definitely worth the hype! Ordered the Mixed Grill platter and everything was so flavourful. Definitely the best Greek food I’ve had in Vancouver. SO FREAKIN GOOD. Went on a Friday around lunch time so only waited for about 10 minutes for a table. Friendly staff, however the waitresses could’ve been a little bit more attentive. Had to ask a couple of times to get our bill but other than that very pleasant experience, highly recommend!
