Came today shortly after 8am, which is the posted opening time, but the staff informed me I couldn’t order yet as they weren’t ready to serve yet, even though the doors were already open. I waited for five minutes, and still no service so left.
I’ve visited Small Victory many times, so I was surprised to arrive right at opening and be told I couldn’t place an order.
If 8am is the advertised opening time, customers should be able to come in and receive service at that time, rather than being told we’re not “open” yet.

Great food, polite staff, lovely place overall. My only complaint is the washrooms are consistently filthy. I frequently work here all day and there is pee all over the toilet seats, toilet paper everywhere and the floor is covered in muddy water.

Great coffee and croissants. Reasonable price given the location and a very nice place. Definetly reccomend it.

My wife had a quiche today and declared it excellent. I wasn’t with her but she brought me home a chicken pie. Well, it was excellent. Lovely flaky pastry, super tasty filling - can’t wait to go myself.

Went to this location yesterday and the service by the manager was absolutely exceptional! She was extremely friendly and patient and helped me and my friend choose stuff based on our preferences. Would definitely visit again.

Small Victory Bakery is a breath of fresh air from the Starbucks grind.
Bright, spacious, and welcoming, it’s where locals and an older crowd actually linger over coffee instead of cramming into tiny seats with laptops and hipster wannabes.
The pastries look out of this world—flaky croissants, gorgeous tarts, and sourdough that’s worth the trip alone- maybe next time, I'll be able to grab a few.
The coffee though, nice! Rich, smooth, and clearly made with care.
If you want delicious baking, great coffee, and room to breathe, this place is a true Vancouver gem.

I ordered the avo toast with egg on the side. It was disappointing. Eggs were cold and not seasoned properly and the toast was like a desert toast. Looked like kunafi Dubai chocolate lol. Avocado did not taste like avocado.

I feel as though I can only describe my experience at this establishment in poem form
I went to small victory to eat
Their customer service was simply elite
No other bakery can compete
From the warm hello as I walked through the door
My jaw simply fell to the floor
My eyes were attacked with choice
When suddenly out came a voice
‘Can I help you sir, is there anything you need’
Possibly a croissant or an everything bagel covered in seed
The aid I received was welcome and my transaction was completed poste haste
The only thing to trump the service, was the wonderful mouth watering taste.
I will be back

I'm looking for a few nice places to visit regularly in my new neighbourhood but walking in the door for the first time led me into a cold, sterile environment staffed by indifferent, borderline rude, staff. Won't be going back.
