Every time I come here for lunch, I leave stuffed. Daily specials are an amazing deal @ $9.95,, today had bacon mushroom cheeseburger (with all the fixings) , barley soup, and potatoe wedges (perfectly fried). The food had a nice homemade feel to it, compared to say the Burger King down the street where you can't get this full at the same price point.
So bad, it's good. I know this doesn't make sense, but sometimes there is a place with fairly terrible food, that becomes so cool, you go there anyway. Smile is that place. It's been around forever. You walk in and you know the last update was in the early 90s, maybe late 80s. The food? Don't get my five star review wrong... it's NOT GOOD... but it's everything you want when you come here! If you want avo-toast, you're in the wrong place and...
My wife and I stopped by for lunch today. As others have commented, seems like your basic diner from the outside. We were pleased when we stepped inside. The entire place was really clean. The booths and chairs all looked new. My wife had the special while I had a No. 2. Delicious lentil soup, the soup of the day, started lunch. Our mains were served piping hot and were great. The fake 1M Canadian bill on one walk, posters of a young Michael Jackson, and pottery on the shelves...
