I did not expect to get delicious tacos so close to our hotel in Vancouver but here they were! After being on a cruise for a week I was jonesing for some good Mexican food. I was happy to see that a Mexican restaurant was a few blocks from our hotel. When I say restaurant, it is really more like a grocery with a takout restaurant inside. There really wasn't any seating but that didn't matter because we planned to bring it back to the hotel. I liked that I could order three different tacos. My hubs, who likes "American style tacos" asked for just beef and they were able to accommodate him. I loved the sauces.The staff was super nice too. I bet this is popular for lunch among area workers. If it isn't, it should be.

This awesome Mexican grocery store doubles as an authentic taqueria! Reasonably priced and one of my favourite taco spots in YVR. Definitely worth a visit.

We were so happy to come across this place on the way back from the beach, super hungry and tired and looking for some quick bites. We shared a 4 taco meal for only $14 (Anywhere else in Vancouver would be like + $25 for 4 tacos!!!) and they were freshly made and delicious!! It took about 5-10 minutes but you can walk around the store while waiting and check out all the cool authentic Mexican groceries and sweets. We will definitely go back.

The best thing is that they have a vegan version of tacos too. It's a lovely little place to grab lunch if you work downtown. The dishes not only have flavours and ingredients but you can feel the warm and loving feel of mexican cuisine. I had some tacos at Sombreros. It was a wonderful experience. The tacos were simple, not to heavy but tasty and had the perfect amount of spice. The two woman working were kind and made me feel welcome and at ease. The music was relaxing and added an air of calmness to my experience. Will definitely check out this gem again.

We tried the 4 veggie taco platter, and it was really great! Fairly priced, decent portion size. We split it 4 ways as a snack, but one order would make a decent meal. The hot sauce (house made) was great too! Will definitely try to make it back here when we’re in town again.
