Fabulous little spot that would be a regular place if i was local. stunning views of the river. Clam chowder excellent, with toasted tuna melt very tasty. Gents serving are a pleasure. They have toilets' - you need to request a key - an experience.. v reasonable - highly recommended.

This deli was a unexpected treat on our visit to Vancouver. Very unassuming and tucked backed in a corner of a shopping center, their sign out front advertising "panoramic view" caught our attention. We wandered in and were warmly welcomed. Their extensive menu posted above the counter advertised several daily specials as well as sandwich and soup choices. I chose the reuben and my husband the tuna melt, and we both opted for a bowl of the clam chowder. Yum! We also decided to try the homemade carrot cake which was outstanding. If you are looking for good food reasonably priced in Vancouver with a view of the harbor check out the Cottage Deli!

If you’re a tourist and looking for some diverse, trendy place with a 10 page menu, this is not the place for you! I was walking through Gas Town and thinking to myself, it’s pretty touristy here, yet I was hungry and looking for a cute little place when I walked by a billboard pointing me in the direction of the water. I quickly checked reviews on this restaurant and they were very good. I went in and an elderly gentleman took my order right away. Had I been time swept into the year 1995? Because a soup and sandwich was under $10! I couldn’t believe my eyes, and especially since I was in Gas Town in Vancouver! I made my way up to the second level which had an amazing view! I chatted with an international group of students from the Vancouver Film School, while drinking my amazing latte and waiting for the rest of my lunch. My food tasted like my mum had just made me lunch! The Reuben was delicious and the lentil soup was very nice as well. The whole experience was exactly what I was looking for.

Enjoyed a nice soup and sandwich for lunch. it's no frills but feels like eating with family at the same time. The two older gentlemen seemed quite but answered questions as needed . The view overlooking the bay is spectacular and a bit whimsical

The delicious bowl of chilli was just what we needed after our morning of relentless sightseeing. We sat outside looking over some of the best views in town. Don’t rule this place out because it looks a bit dark and old fashioned as you peer in the door. There’s something special about the place and the two old guys running it.

Great atmosphere! Upstairs has a view of the cruise ships. Two delightful older men run the cafe and have quite a personality. They will take US money, but can't make change. In Gastown. Highly recommend.
