Feels like eating “normie” Chinese food. Huge portions and familiar textures

Huge menu and lots of choice. Just ask if there’s egg or diary in the dish before because there’s no label but the servers are very friendly and attentive. Food came out super fast 💨 We got the vegetables dumplings, colourful vegetable chop suey, tofu chili hot pot, and bo kong fried rice. Everything was great! FYI hot pot is not like Korean hot pot so don’t expect soup unless it’s explicitly written. Would go back to try more options ☺️ #Veganuary

Sun Bo Kong is one of our favorites to visit as a family - vegans and non-vegans. Their menu is huge and includes both dim sum and regular take-out size dishes. Our go-to dishes include, mushroom calamari, bean curd skin in black bean sauce, bbq pork buns, and sticky fried rice.

Saved me from getting scammed by the notorious red coat Chinese lady who "lost her wallet". Food is good too

Great dining experience! The menu is hugeee. I wish I had a big belly for all the dishes here. Unfortunately we came for dinner, so we didn’t get to try dim sum dishes. Will come back in the morning for dim sum.

There’s parking in the back alley and you can walk upstairs from the back.

Dinner with some friends who are vegetarian and they introduced to Sun Bo Kong Vegetarian Restaurant on Kingsway. The menus is so extensive and everything so was delicious and I need to come back to try other dishes.

We ordered:
- Spinach Thick Soup: beautiful presentation with green and white ying yang symbol on the surface. The soup was so savoury I had another helping.
- Deep Fried Taro Roll: I love taro and this was nice twist as it's deep fried
- Tofu and Broccoli: Was a customized request for me, and it's not on the menu
- Baked Fried Rice with Pumpkin and Cheese: I don't tend to eat pumpkin as savory dish and this was my hubby's favourite dish
- Chili & Pepper Deep Fried Fresh Oyster Mushroom - I do not like mushroom but I take a bite just to try and well, I ate the rest of it! I guess when you deep fry anything, it just taste wonderful :)
- Dessert: Tapioca Pudding - always one my favourite Chinese dessert

The service was wonderful as the staff we took our order helped us decide what to order with what we like and what the staff recommending. For a weekday evening, the restaurant was quite busy.

We had a wonderful dinner catching up with dear friends, dinng together with delicious vegetarian food.

They were nice enough to fit us (with a stroller) on a busy friday night without a reservation.
Food took awhile but was freshly prepped and really delicious.
We had the bamboo pith soup, seaweed bean curd roll and the lo hon fried noodles

Bean curd roll had salad dressing on top which was a bit strange but the soup and noodles were cooked perfectly.

Make a reservation in advance!

I have now ordered two large catering orders from Sun Bo Kong and the service is amazing! The manager is very kind and the food is delicious. All vegetarian/vegan with a great plethora of options. For catering, they work with you and your budget to make sure you have enough food for everyone. Its affordable, delicious, and they are so sweet -- no complaints!!

I highly recommend the bean curd skin roll with black bean sauce!

When I eat here, I completely forget about my constant craving for meat. I have no idea how they do it, but somehow a vegetarian restaurant has become my favorite restaurant?

Everything is delicious, the portions are huge, and the staff and owner are absolute gems!

Of all the delicious food I've had in Vancouver, if I had to pick one place to go to every day... it would be here.

The staff were extremely helpful when helping us order. I didn't like some of the dishes as much as others, but that is only because I'm picky. I just need to come a few more times to figure out my favorites.

My favourite dim sum restaurant in all of North America! Particularly recommend the bean curd skin with black bean, and the Portuguese Curry Hot Pot.

The service is fantastic too - everyone is so wonderful and friendly!

I ordered takeout by phone. I was hung up on once, was answered by what sounded like a modem from the '90s a second time, and got through the third time. I was told it would be 30 minutes and there would be a 10% discount for picking up.

The Good: I got there five minutes early and my food was ready. There was a lot of food and it was initially tasty.

The Bad: When I paid I was told there would be no 10% discount. No big deal, I'm getting a lot of food for not very much money. Also, the food was cold. I walked it outside for about 15 minutes, double bagged, and it was about 10 degrees out, so while I wasn't expecting piping hot, I also wasn't expecting cold. Oh well, that's what microwaves are for?

The Ugly: I found the "ingredient" pictured after eating most of my giant pile of food. I don't think that's vegetarian and I don't want to think about what else I may have consumed ???
