Sushi Bar Maumi Reviews
Great ambiance and exactingly prepared nigiri is what Maumi is all about. Extensive sake list and some nice Champagnes.
Intimate traditional japanese omakase with fresh fish from Japan served as nigiri (12 different types); i am familiar with the different types of seafood served but for those who are not familiar with Japanese seafood names, it would be more interesting if Chef Maumi could interact more and introduce each dish. Overall it was a great omakase experience
Authentic Omakase experience. Wish they start servicing sake soon.

Sushi Bar Maumi offers an exceptional dining experience in Vancouver. The restaurant's interior is luxurious, and the food is beautifully presented and elegantly flavored. The Omakase sushi, where each piece is exquisitely prepared by the skilled chef, is the highlight of the menu, with unbeatable quality.
The restaurant features a unique U-shaped counter setup, with only one seating at 6 PM sharp. Guests should be aware of the strict policies, including the requirement to arrive on time, as latecomers may be denied service. Chef Maumi Ozaki maintains a serious and focused demeanor, providing a professional experience. While the dining experience may not be as interactive as some may prefer, every part of the experience is thoughtful and impressive.
Sushi Bar Maumi is a top choice for those seeking traditional, high-quality sushi in a refined setting. The $125 for a 13-course Omakase, plus an optional $15 for a sake flight, is a reasonable deal for the exceptional quality of the cuisine. Guests can enjoy excellent champagne, sake, whiskey, and a dessert to die for, making it a must-visit restaurant. Arriving a bit earlier is recommended, as seating is first come, first serve, providing good value considering the quality of food offered.
