The food was fresh and delicious, but the service was very disappointing.
The restaurant opens at 12:00. We arrived at 11:45, assuming it might open a little earlier, but the staff just staring at us wait outside, even though it was cold and raining.
After we were seated, the waitress forgot to give us the menus, so we had to ask for them. She then brought tea without asking what we would like to drink.
It’s unfortunate, because the food and atmosphere are great. I feel sorry for the business owner, as the poor service really takes away from an otherwise good experience.

The food is ok but the prices have spiked. The servers are too intrusive and keep coming to your table. I could not relax because multiple servers kept disrupting me and even when I told a server I am good and do not need anything else another server still showed up.

My fav. Sushi restaurant in Vancouver! It’s cheap and delicious! Nice servers as well ~ always drop by when I’m in Vancouver. My favorite rolls : holla jalapeño roll , smoke salmon cream cheese roll!

I went to Sushi California today and had a really great experience. We ordered the wild sockeye sashimi, Sakura roll, prawn tempura, wakame salad, California roll, and the Las Vegas roll. Everything was fresh and delicious, but my favorite was definitely the Sakura roll—if you love tobiko, you should absolutely try it. The service was excellent as well. The servers were very kind, constantly checking on our tea and refilling it without us even having to ask. We stayed for quite a while, and they never made us feel rushed or asked us to leave. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I would happily recommend.
