Presentation of ramen was disappointing. Pork chashu was mostly fat and shrimp tempura was mostly batter.

We' ve been going here since it opened, but not lately since we moved. Last night we decided to visit for dinner. Nobody was there. Ordered nana galbi bento box. The description it says on the menu is different when it was served. The galbi was tough, barely chewed it, and the flavor changed. Spring roll was pale, looked and tasted under cooked. Sushi was not served with ginger or wasabi. Since we were the only one there, it was very quiet and all I could here was the guy micromanaging all the employee. Looks like changed in ownership or something. Would never come back.

Food quality is ok. It’s worth the price tag but there are other spots that serve fresher sushi and sashimi. It’s good for a quick and affordable meal if you’re in the area

I’m sad to see some of the recipes have changed and they are no longer making traditional takoyaki. I have been ordering takoyaki here for the past couple years and was surprised by a batches flattened appearance the other month. I assumed it was just a one off. After 3 separate orders, it’s clear they are no longer rotating the dough in the pan, but rather letting them set flat and half cooked. I hope they consider returning them to their traditional rounded shape :(

Sushi Nanaimo serves tasty rolls on Hastings and Nanaimo street. I like the Alaska rolls and house rolls. There's seating inside the restaurant, but you might end up waiting for a table as it will fill up depending on the time of day.

Usually very good but haven’t been there for 3-4 months. Today I was surprised by the quality of the food. I asked if the ownership had changed hands, apparently not.
I ordered the “grilled Saba” as I have done many times before. It came deep fried this time, not grilled. Not good. And nobody can explain why. There use to be no need to explain before because everything was right.
Not good value.

still very delicious although it seems to have gone through lots of change. as prices keep going up, i noticed stuff like the spicy salmon sashimi portion size being nerfed (especially all the cucumbers it used to have).

when ordering in a group, i think the server forgot to bring us plates, and the portion sizes seemed smaller compared to when i ordered a roll solo to-go on a different day. so might be hit or miss depending on the day and time you visit.

tl;dr: changes, prices increased, but the food is still good prob the best around this area for sure
