The pork katsu don was a huge portion. There was a little bit too much rice for my preference. The sauce they had drizzled on top was different than what I have had traditionally. It tasted like something similar to Okonomyaki sauce, but more acidic. The appetizer assorted sashimi was great for sharing for two people. The hamachi oshi aburi was my favorite, it was nice and smoky. The salmon aburi was nice and creamy. It tasted like strongly of garlic which I personally love.
The spinach gomaae had just enough sauce to spinach ratio.
Customer service was great and attentive.

The staff suggested salmon oshi and I added a Vancouver island roll.

Biggest turn off was the dirty dishes. Even after they were changed, there was still an oil film present.
Presentation of their dishes were good. But freshness is definitely not there. The sashimi didn't taste fresh or have a fresh texture. I had to spit out a piece because it tasted off.
Only positive I found with this place was their tempura. Probably one of the best places in town for tempura. The fry was perfectly crispy and not too oily. The batter was very flaky and flavourful. It's a shame they can't bring the same quality with the rest of their menu.

Went there on Monday evening and it seemed busy, but we were able to get a table right away. The food was good, especially the ebi mayo, and the ikura was very fresh and high quality. However, the volcano rolls were a letdown. They should fix the washrooms — the women’s washroom was out of order, and the men’s washroom door couldn’t close, so only the accessible washroom was usable. One more thing: the server should be more careful when spraying sanitizer to clean the tables, as it can easily reach customers sitting nearby.

Excellent Roll Selection! We will definitely come again. We have also had take out a few times from this place. Always good service. Usually very busy but not too long of a wait for a table.
